DrUg_Tit0
aside from both being fast, they're both sort of underground.
verminator
uhm?
trance..... underground??...

næh

dont think so
KilldaDJ
true, most ppl who like punk say trance is gay .
trance is good, punk is good...depending on what mood im in, sometimes i can listen to angry drowing pool/mad capsule markets and others i could listen to guttermouth/bad religion

strange how some punkers have developed a taste for trance music...i mean i cant really see a correlation between the 2, but if they like trance, they like trance, all is good :D

Exactly - haven't met too many punks who like trance, but tons of them are into HHC and DnB (which is more the "raver" style anyway, IMO).

I've said it once, and I will say it again... punk, hip-hop, and electronica all share a common bond. They are all types of music that were originally looked down upon by society and stand for something. They are all about acceptance and making something with your life. Around here, most people are accepting of hip-hop and electronica, but originally got into punk rock. It's a beautiful thing. It's just a shame that so many people are abusing punk, hip-hop, and electronic music for dollars, and not representing the ideals of what that music stands for.

I hafta say from experience with the similar ppl... it's the drugs and the highs, from the drugs and the music. I'm originally a rocker at heart, but trance is my other favourite genre overall.

i'd have to disagree with you here.... try starting a thread with the words HIP HOP, RAP, or JA RULE in the title... the threads will be flooded with ignorance within a matter of minutes...

i'm just so glad none of that has made its way into this thread... TAs are pretty respectful of punk music...

I got into punk long before I got into the electronic music scene. I know a few people whose first love is definitely punk, mainly hardcore minor threat-style. I'd say they're into drum & bass and breaks more than trance but I definitely see some similarities to what other people have said in this thread. Anyway, I don't know whether anyone noticed but my screen name was inspired by a line from a NOFX song, "The Longest Line." Punk rocks, trance rocks, yep another similarity.. :D
