| I was just reading the thread about Sasha's new GU album and I realized I don't know anyone that doesn't like Sasha. I mean, everyone LOVES him, even if he isn't your style, you still respect him. Do you think he's the most respected DJ/Producer in the industry? Armin, Tiesto, Corsten, etc. all have their haters, but who doesn't atleast respect Sasha? |

| To me, Sasha is one of the only huge DJs who is a true artist. He doesn't spend his time making mix albums to cash in, and I can't think of one production by him that could be called cheesy. I definitely respect this guy so much because he's been around for a while now and he's always been good and on top of the game IMO. |

I think it changes. I used to respect pvd and tiesto a lot more than I do know but then again things change. I respect John Digweed because he played here in November despite a bad ear infection and when he missed a gig at a club in alberta I believe, he posted a letter from himself on their messageboard saying he does not miss gigs unless tremendous problems happen and he posted it before the date. Most deejays would have not done it and just not said a damn thing and a lot of ppl would have shown up and been disappointed. Then he stated in that letter, he would make up the gigs. That's decency, you may hate his music but at least you should respect him for being honest with ppl.
Sasha has not done a remix since 1999, there is decent guy. Most deejays now days, remix everything they get offered. |

| That's right, he couldn't play in Calgary, then he went back in January I believe. Very classy. |

| and he posted an apology on the messageboard. He himself did it, not his mgt company but just him. |

| all those artists who gave money to the relief of 9/11. Fresh in mind, PVD gave proceedings of his 9/12 set (a very emotional set btw) to 9/11 relief. |

I believe there are many reasons to respect Sasha. As others have stated, he's not all about producing mix compilations or remixing every track that comes his way. That shows that he is truly about quality, not quantity. I believe that's why he is not a one hit wonder, and why there is no one track of Sasha's that clearly outshines the rest. I personally gained much respect for Sasha when, upon reading the Headline "Sasha: Son of God?" on a popular DJ magazine, Sasha wrote in, saying that such a claim is ridiculous, and that he felt embarrassed. To me, that is a sign of a very down-to-earth person who merely does what they enjoy for a living. Another reason i have great repsect for him is because he, along with BT, was one of the very first innovators of trance music. A very select few artists in the history of music can be credited for pioneering a new genre of music, and Sasha is one of those few. On a less personal level, I admire Sasha because of his mixing. Listening to the seamless flow going out of one tune and into the next, and then realizing that the CD was mixes live still gives me goosebumps.
Other DJ's I respect are DJ Tiesto, Paul van Dyk, and John Digweed. |

| I respect Sasha because he gets way more mashed up than anybody else and can still throw down the best 4 hour set you will ever hear. :p |

I'd have to agree. I dont think I've seen any BT hating for as long as I've been into electronic music. |
