I believe the argument wasn't about believing itself, but about believing in irrational things. There was some evidence at the time that indicated the earth was round, so Columbus & co. didn't act purely on instinct. There however is no evidence for the existance of a god. |

But there is also no evidence that god does not exist.
But the thing which i didnt like about the post was the "christians are so dumb".
That sentence itself is not very clever.. :rolleyes: |

Quantumphysical speaking it does. There no way of strictly saying that something is where it is when it is. There is only a different point of perception.
Religion is based upon one rule, believing without seeing. It up to you whether you accept it or not.
But above all believing or not-believing is an option and not a law or a rule. Accept peoples choice and laugh with it as long as you want. laughing is good for you, it's healthy and it makes you live longer. Just like sex and you won't hear anyone complaining if someone has sex because of religion, so don't complain when somebody laughs because of religion.
I wrote this to prove a point. I can sell BS in style

wow, that was really cute of you. Next time try using logic. Thats possibly the easiest statement to turn around on the originator...ever. Plus, if you do not understand the fundamentals of why you respect people, im amused in the knowledge that someday someone will teach you.

okay....with evidence or not of 'his' existence,
the argument is that..
Religion is an organised system of beliefs...these beliefs include a morale (instructions about behaviour), a code of deities, a dogma, and a mythology based on the code of deities (bare in mind that a myth is a supernatural story that explains the psychology and customs of a certain society).
All things considered, i rather stick to my own reasoning....
which doesn't exactly make me an atheist,
with all the beliefes around the globe, it's hard to discard the idea that there is a supreme force; i believe that we are all one consciousness......
and that is my philosophy. |
