stephen hawkings does, and so do i. it's a lot more plausible than the genesis story if you ask me. |

two things:
first off, the universe was always here. there is a finite amount of mass and energy. what was here before that? there was no before.
it was all stored in one little infintessimally small place at the start of the big bang, then it exploded outwards, and that is why the universe is continually expanding today.
far fetched? you got a better theory?
second, don't call me honey |

P.S. did this cosmic explosion and the materials/matter needed for it emerge out of absolutely nothing? You have to realize that without the universe there was NOTHING. No matter. No rocks or gases. Zip zero. Scary thought huh? |
Before the big bang there was something, what there was doesn't matter. I can give you a whole quantumphysical speech with the Planck constant matter and anti-matter and kinetik and potential energy. But it simply doesn't matter
If one sais God or a god or some gods created it, I ask them what was he/she/it or were they doing before they created it and from where does he/she/it or do they come.
One would not be able to give an answer, not because there isn't any, but because it doesn't matter.
No one can ever state what was before the universe and we will never be able to do so because our point of perception is not good enough to percieve such things.
And I do believe nature created the universe and as far as I know nothing is stronger than nature....maybe reality but reality has no influence upon itself while nature can influence everything. |

I actually agree with your whole post, except this:
| quote: | | And I do believe nature created the universe and as far as I know nothing is stronger than nature....maybe reality but reality has no influence upon itself while nature can influence everything. (Apostle) |
nature didn't create the universe, it IS the universe. The universe has always and will always be. Anything before is beyond our comprehension.
reality is not a tangible thing, it's simply a perception. |

How does "matter can neither be created nor destroyed" fit in with "always existed"?
debate! (chops hand down in a box matching style movement) |

| ?!? how doesn't it? if it can never be created or destroyed, and it's here now, then.. obviously it was always here. |
