Armin is surely the best trance dj but dunno if he's the best dj in the world.. well at least talking about mixing skills, he's very good but not amazing compared to the prog scene dudes. better than tiesto though :haha:
my bets are that tiesto will win it again next year, can't see any good dj as popular as him |

Marco V Will continue his climb and hopefully make the top 10
Other big climbers will be O'Bir & Askew making it in hopefully
Tiesto Sliding down a lot
Ferry Making top 5
Jules & Dave Pearce cocking the out of the top 100
Sasha & Oakenfold dropping, they might be 'names' but they do nothing for me
Rise up for The Harder Generation, Maddox, Lee Haslam, Yoji |

| Tiesto, Sasha and Digweed have all been #1... I think the only DJ who could possibly be a new #1 is PVD, but it will only happen if his new album is a huge success.. Personally I'd say Tiesto or PVD since Tiesto was #1 in 2002 yet this year he is even better. Sasha and Digweed havent been doing anything special to get back up to the top... |

I'm a big fan of Tiesto and think he deserved number 1. But earlier this year a 'Euphoria' album ('Deeper Shades Of..') was mixed by Jay Burnett - and to be honest, thats probably the best mixed compilation cd i've got.
Listening to it, you can hear sometimes 3 or 4 tunes playing at any one time, writing the tracklisting for it must have been a bitch!
If all of his sets are like that, he deserves to be in the top ten IMO :D
(Although I hadn't even heard of him till that 'Euphoria' came out!!)
:haha: |

I don't understand why you people put AVB infront of Tiesto. AVB is good, but Tiesto is better imo. Let's face it, '76' is nothing compared to 'In My Memory'. Looking at the track listing for 'IMM' makes me my pants. Of the 9 tracks 7 are incredible (Flight 643, Suburban Train, Lethal Industry, Obsession, Magik Journey, Dallas 4pm, In My Memory). Now looking at track listing for '76', AVB has what? 'From The Heart' on which he got help from System F, I guess this can account for Junkie XL's help on Tiesto's 'Obession', and then he has 'Wait For You' along with the classic 'Communication.' So 3 good tracks out of album that consisted of 13. Thats expected from #1 DJ? Camon guys. Oh and don't say 'Burned With Desire' that junk is soooooo boring. This is all on production side, lets get to DJing. Good AVB sets? Sure there is quite a few, but Tiesto has waaaay more. ASOT, sure nice .. however nothing spectacular. Tiesto rocked with 20,000 people in Holland, and delivered a flawless performance. Compared to AVB, Tiesto's sets are also mixed with better skills and song selections are much better. People suggest that Tiesto aims towards the 'mainstream sound' of trance, I laugh at that. Tiesto IS the mainstream of trance, and he can't aim towards something that he IS, he can just distribute it out thorugh his sets, cds, vinyls and etc. It is good that we have a mainstream that is not cheesey and that is original, so lets not bash it. Tiesto #1 for 2003, hands down. AVB right behind him #2, because he does deserve to be up there, don't get me wrong. HE IS THAT GOOD. I just don't believe that he has credibility to surpass Tiesto yet. Next year, he might.
p.s. not flaming, just stating :)
