| really this poll dosnt mean a whole lot. Seeing as half the people voting probably dont know about the music. Its a popularity contest and seeing as everyone on earth knows tiesto's name he will be number 1 again. This poll has NOTHING to do with DJ skills |

What you said is absolutely foolish! Tiesto has probably contributed to trance more than any other DJ out there. There are many aspects that I can rate a DJ by. Mixing, productions, contributions, awards, etc... Tiesto may not know how to make "love" to turntables but he sure knows how to produce the world's best trancers! So to say that many knowledgeable TAs would vote for Tiesto because he is popular is fairly insulting and close minded. |

Tiësto is again doing a great job IMO. If he manages to hold on to his current form he might even be able to catch first place for the second time :)
However, my 'new' favourite of this year is Sander Kleinenberg. He spins more and more funky and trancy progressive which I find really nice to hear. |

this poll is called "the best dj in the world" and not "the dude who contributed more to trance". also, probably the biggest part of the ppl that vote haven't heard a set from him.
so what YOU said is absolutely foolish. |

I think Tiesto has done the most this year, with his solo concert, his DvD, and all the great tunes and remixes he's already done. Next would be PvD or Armin, PvD with his Global DvD and the upcoming release of 'Vorsprung Dyk Technik 2", and Armin with '76'. I've always been a huge fan of Sasha & Digs, but I haven't heard much from either of them this year. On the other hand, I've been very busy and haven't been paying real close attention.

Tiesto will take it again this year whether you want him to or not, no ing doubt
With PVD rising up to #2 this year and armin i am guessing in #3 |

Ok... First of all you have completely misunderstood my main point. I’ll highlighted for you... “Many TAs, including myself, are not voting for Tiesto because of his popularity” It was kind of insulting for you to make such a generalization. Anyway…
Now back to this ranking thing… what you are proposing is to look at all the productions/live acts/awards/etc for year 2003? Since it's only June I would have to consider his productions and live acts of 2002 as well.
Productions/Remixes 2002-2003
--------------------------------------------
(2002)
01 - The Roc Project featuring. Tina Arena - Never - DJ Tiësto Remix
02 - Junkie XL - Breezer - DJ Tiësto Remix

04 - Svenson & Gielen - We know what you did - DJ Tiësto Remix
05 - Umek - Gatex - DJ Tiësto Remix

12 - Moby - We Are All Made Of Stars - DJ Tiësto's Full Vocal Remix
13 - Paul Oakenfold - Southern Sun - DJ Tiësto Remix

15 - Kosheen - Hungry - DJ Tiesto Vocal Mix
(2003)
01 - Chris Hampshire & Vincent Nysse featuring Nikita - Eternal Voices - Tiësto's Alternative Breaks Mix
02 - Dj Cor Fijnman featuring Jan Johnston - Venus - Tiësto Remix
Live Acts 2002-2003
--------------------------------------------
1) Many 2002 events (too many to list here)...
2) Tiesto - Live in Concert 2003! (The best solo event in 2003! Tickets sold weeks in advance)
3) I don't have to write any more here.... we all know that Tiesto is booked for months in advance... And he plays at the biggest, most known, best clubs in the world.
Awards (2002-2003)
--------------------------------------------
1)DJ Tiesto is nominated in the Best Breakthrough DJ category at the DanceStar 2002 Awards
2) DJ Tiësto receives the "Artist of the year 2002" rewarded by the dutch commercial radio station 'radio 538'.
2) Dancestar USA Award 2003
The point here is that Tiesto is amazing and I'm not even a Tiesto fan. :D Of course these guys: PVD, '00' Fleming, Corsten, Armin, Sasha, etc.. deserve to be #1 but we'll have to wait and see because it's only June...
So yeah, judging from 2002 and 2003 I would have to give an educated guess and say Tiesto deserves to be number. |

Ofcourse!!! I've seen a lot DJ's and this summer I will see a lot more on parties like GKGG, DV and ML. :D:D This weekend a 2 hour performence of UNDERWORLD!!! :D:D:D:D
But what I was trying to say is that a lot of American dudes always cry that Tiesto is bad and only wins because he's populair. And thats crap!! And I know for sure there are crybabies here who never see the dude spinning.
And there was a dude that says that Tiesto maybe becomes a ass if he win again. But I can tell you that when i shake hands with him last thursday that he is still the same dude. :) |

At last, someone I agree with :)
Everyone has his / her own opinion. Please let him / her stick to it, and don't bother too much about the rest. If everyone did this, there wouldn't be any war (be it racial, social or religious) in this world.
But if I can still give my OWN opinion.. The best performance I have seen this year was from Chris Liebing at Mayday.. The energy and fun this guy has when spinning is simply amazing.. But I'm pretty sure he won't win this *** contest.. Well, I don't care. |

I saw PVD for the first time last saturday and he should be #1. I was surprised how much he was dancing around and singing along to the records, I imagined he was shy or something. |
Saw Eddie Halliwell play a few weeks ago - u wanna see someone dance about and put on a show, he's the guy!!
(Only DJ i've seen who can actually dance, hehe :tongue2) |
