the very thing I didnt want here, this isn't about deserving or anything, just which of the 'big 4' people think will do well, I'd have other ppl winning it but it won't happen, so i was trying to get a good discussion minus team colours & flaming :sadgreen: |
I am just suggesting that there should be a winner that is NOT trance. A trance DJ won last year, so this year I think it should be switched around. |

that would be cool. it shouldn't be house either. give it to Andy C. he deserves it. |

| hmmz, i usually not a big PvD fan for a few reasons, but lately itz hard to deny how great his sets and tracks have been, so im saying that he'll probably make number 1 ;) |

| i really think pvd will win this year!!! not only because he is my fave dj, but of what he has done this year so far!! as ian mentioned his sets have been insane :eyes: Energy 2003!! Nature One!!! and his set from the Miami Winter Music Conference live @ Club Space was the best pvd set i've been to..and i have been to a number!!! this set was nuts!!!!:eyespop: tiesto in my opinion has been lazy...yes he had TIC and Nyana...but IMO, pvd has been getting the massive response from the fans...and pluz, as legendary as he is, he NEVER won this dj list before..so it's long, long overdue!!! |

| It came down to Armin or PVD as my number 1 pick this year. I chose PVD. I think he did a great job this year and I guess cause he's older and Armin still has time, I gave PVD my number 1 vote this year. Hope everything works out, VANDIT FOR LIFE! |

I think its gonna be Armins year
GO AVB, his radio shows ASOT (A state of Trance) have increased his exposure to those who previously had no idea who Armin Van Buuren was...thus they have now been touched by the light :):D |

I think, in all honesty, this year was bigger for tiesto then last year, don't be surprised if he wins again. He will be in top 3 for sure (IMO). I didn't vote for him, but I didn't vote for armin or ferry either (and paul was # 4 or 5 for me), but you have to admit Tiesto has had a _huge_ year. |
Its true he has had a lot of exposure and alot of common music listeners know who he is now but
Even though Tiesto has been number one on my list for about 4 years I dont want him to win cos I dont like the way he is going. So I put him behind Armin and Ferry... |

Although Tiesto has been getting exposure I think alot of it has been negative from the established Trance community, I am guilty of that, I dont like the way he incorporates rock and all sort sorts of music. But I can however appreciate it, we do have to give him credit for being the most innovative of all DJs this year...His sets change so much depending on where he his and what kind of part he is playing at.:D
And he may win again on that merit:conf: |

They all are great... But PvD released his album and spinned many excellent livesets this summer + new remixes and edits + DVD (Tiesto decided to make his own but it wasn't an original idea...) + Zurdo soundtrack etc.
So... PvD :) |

Oh for sake get off of it. Making a DVD was paul's "original" idea, hardly... Reflections wasn't that great. it should have been hailed the same was "bunkka" was, same type of thing, but people were more gentle the second time around bashing a big name artist (oakie took all the flakk for trying something new, and paul got off lucky) i guess.
Tiesto has had productions this year (ala Traffic, Nyana) and also a mix compilation (Nyana).
Besides the fact that "productions" and "dj-ing" are in theory exclusive things (doesn't work out in practice so well) and you shouldn't rate one's djing abilities on productions.
Tiesto played some banging sets this summer as well (amnesia off the top of my head), tiesto in concert is something you can downplay all you want but, it *was* significant.
that being said I'm not really partial to either of them, both have their merits but i think such dogmatic claims must be dismissed... |

Nyana is the worst trance comilation ever released - playing 100% hits doesn't mean it's great. And Tiesto's stupid acid sounds on CD1
Traffic doesn't even contain a proper melody...
Btw it's only my opinion... But Tiesto dropping hits again and again isn't that interesting. |
