Ya... honestly I get along with Armada and Mecha just fine off the 'net, these aren't hate posts or anything. But just getting along with someone doesn't mean you agree with everything they do/say/post, and sometimes you have to speak up, IMO.
I just didn't think the prog comments were appropriate for this thread; I would definitely not have been so harsh if it had been carried on in its own thread (and perhaps with a little more humility). It's a valid discussion, it just doesn't belong here. It's the type of thing that's best discussed privately with the organizers and promoters. |

Ok no more long drawn out threads as I am sick of typing it all. I think it is that you just want to play prog at the event? Like you saying "we felt left out". If so bring it up with the promotor's who decide who is playing, why in this thread? Also if you look at the "other rooms" they are already booked...with Reggae djs and another dj upstairs etc... |

Alright, enough Art. Your posts are bull. Simply spitting out sound bites like "you missed my point", "you don't understand", "I don't have time for this", and "I didn't say that" does not give your argument any validity. In fact, I'd say that it makes you look downright immature.
No one was "dissing" prog, and if you think that's the case then YOU misunderstood.
Your complaints (or as you call them, "suggestions") have absolutely no place in this thread. Absolutely none. Now you can either address the points Chris and I made (rather than whining that we misunderstood YOU, which we didn't) or just bloody well shut up and let people talk about the actual event.

guys, let me say one last thing here...regardless of how much or little I know about either of you, this attitude really doesn't speak much to either of you or the message about progressive music you're trying to get across. What was the point in this entire debate? I'm really not too sure either - but I'm sure it didn't accomplish much.
Edit:
One last thing. At TRANCEaddict nights, progressive has been second to trance in terms of the genres of DJs on the roster at all 4 TA Invasions. you cannot say that techno is "always" getting the airtime along with trance - it's just not true.
What if I play progressive at Palazzo? Would that satisfy you? |

I don't see what your problem is. In the past few months we've had Deep Dish, Hernan Cattaneo, James Holden, Creamer and K, Danny Howells, Paul Oakenfold, Satoshi Tomiie, SASHA (TWICE), and god only knows who else because I don't pay attention to the prog scene, come to spin. And at the TA nights, we've had Steve, Mecha, Armada, Vagrant, Mute, and again more people who I can't remember, spin.
Isn't this "highlight" enough for you? What do you want from the promoters, man?
Why do I get the feeling that what you're really asking is, why can't YOU be the highlight of the night? Because I can certainly remember Mute having a headline spot (and I think Vagrant too?) |

you're entitled to like your own style, but it's still your own opinion, I find techno/hard trance/trance more enegetic, but I still go nuts to progressive regardless, and there is still good trance outhere.
For suggestions, make a new thread and show respect to the performing djs, as all of them worked hard, and keep it to the subject of this thread
If you guys want your music supported, you have to support yourself. Where were you at viva? you missed most of ta invasions, and when you guys span you just left, like big djs, sorry but that's not very nice
AND SHOW RESPECT TO THE PERFOMRING DJS OVER HERE, and if you do want to suggest create a new thread but not here
Sorry i usually ignore stuff like that, but all this is just pissing me off.

Mecha and Armada, do you think there could be some other reason why you personally aren't spinning at this party? TA events have a lot of prog actually so I don't know what the problem is.
And please don't tell me that my opinion doesn't matter either. |

Its weird that you feel out of the loop when all you talk about is prog on a trance site. I'm accepting of all music but if you really want to talk with just pure Progressive fans then you may have to go somewhere else to fit those urges. Tribe actually has a big prog forum. |

OK first of all, I don't see John posting in every thread about how much he wants jungle music to be at TA events. And I don't see him complaining about it and putting trance down in the process. And I know for a fact he does go to jungle boards to get his jungle info and he also goes to jungle events but does a lot for the TA community. Don't compare yourself to John.
And I wasn't telling you off. I was suggesting that maybe spreading out would benefit you in the long run. |
