i am a self-proclaimed prog-whore and i think that getting upset about the lineup is ridiculous. not every party can have every genre of music. we are lucky that there is any trance or techno at all..b/c from teh looks of it teh rest is euro and hip hop, which is what you would normally get from a club like that. I think it's very cool to see it branch out. you can get prog at system pretty much every friday, as well as at the guvernment on saturday and there are various other venues that you can get your fill of prog as well. It's not like it's hard to get or there is a shortage of it in TO (unlike other genres, electro for example).

I totally agree with what you just said, theres more than enough progressive events throughout the city on a weekly basis to satisfy everyones needs, its only the biggest underground scene in north america and obviously in toronto too... we should feel fortunate and grateful to have been graced by that!
I honestly don't see the point in complaining about shortage of prog at this event, or any other trance event for that matter... (directed at trancearmada and mecha) is it to push forward your career or something? I don't get it... |

This is basically what I tried to say before I started getting the personal insults from our "friends" in this thread.
But anyway, thanks for chipping in to sober these guys up, and you too Tara.
Navid, you're just nuts. ;) You should come to this, it'd be your type of party! ;) |

I completely disagree with everything you just said because I'm completely right in everything I say and everything I say makes perfect sense, and you're too dumb to understand what I say, so you're wrong.
(Good enough, Dan? lol) |

oh and BTW just for everyones info, about support.... did Skipper ever show up for any of the TA Invasions, except where she was not spining??? I did not think so... Did me and mecha show up for every single event to support? Absolutely... Oh and if you know tribe, you know that Skipper is a post whore on there... and on TA? yeah that's right she rarely ever posts? So make your own assumptions boys and girls, I bet the only reason she ever joined was just to spin..... or not??? you make that assumption your self..... |
I wasn't even going to dignify this with a response, but there's just a few simple facts that I have to englighten you on.
I joined tranceaddict WELL before I ever BOUGHT my gear. Check my profile. I didn't even buy my first record until November of 2002. Yes, that's less than a year ago. I didn't play out AT ALL until TA Invasion 3. (btw, I was at Invasion 2 prior to that, and didn't know about the first one.) I didn't even have the intention of playing out until one of the TA organizers PMd me and asked me to submit a demo.
And for the amount of time I spend responding to this garbage, it's foolish for you to claim that I "rarely" post on TA. Again, check my profile.
You've stooped pretty low to try and salvage your reputation. Just give it up already, because this kind of thing - the unfounded accusations - is not doing any favors for you at all. |

You need to defend your interests and if I am upset with a line up I would say so. |
my point is, if your interests are 'the opportunity to hear pog music' then your intersts are not at risk. so what are you defending?
This is not a 'TA' event it is a fundraiser for a mayoral candidate. it's not just about us. we have the TA invasions for us. The TA invasions have included not only differet subgenres of trance but techno, prog, and dnb and considering the fact that it's for a site called 'tranceaddict' that's pretty rad if you ask me.

Well, there are places for making comments, but at some places the comments seem out of place. Do you come to hip-hop events and complain about the lack of progressive?
As far as your original comment... Look what happened - you whined about the lack of progressive at this event, and now we have 10 pages of bull to read through. Has anything changed ? Absolutely not - you still think there is not enough progressive, everyone else still thinks you've said something stupid. |

dude thats one of the dumbest things I've ever heard anyone say. We should be spreading the love of the music, and not knocking others who don't know as much or are just beginning to experience the scene. And just because you've been on a msg board longer than other members doesn't mean you know more. It's self-centered, arogant, closedminded and shallow people like you that hurt the scene, and for that matter humanity. We are all human, We all grow everyday, and anybody who thinks that they are better than someone else loses all respect in my books. But hey, "to each his own" |
