REAL PvD @ GLOW 10-11-03 Review! (pg. 3)

Forgot to mention another thing (since so many people complained about it) -- I saw no sign of bouncers being rude to anyone. They were just doing their job.

I showed up around midnight and saw the huge line. I think everyone had the look of "oh " when they saw that. Even the guestlist line was pretty big.. Luckily, I was on the guestlist so I was hoping I wouldn't have to wait in line.. and I didn't. It took about 5 minutes of standing in the guestlist line until a very polite bouncer came up to me and asked how he can help me. I told him that I was on the list, he directed me to another bouncer who gave me a 21+ wristband and a free ticket. I was inside the barricade within minutes.

I think the biggest problem with venues like Glow is that they have so many clubbers to deal with -- especially if Tiesto or PVD are in town. I wouldn't hold anything against them, being a bouncer is a hard job, especially at a huge event like this one. Imagine the stress they are going through.

I agree with Aya Brea, even tho PVD was very into his set, maybe more than when he spins at roxy, the fact is that it was tough for me to get into it also at Glow, because of way too many in drunk s falling into me, and the fact that it was just way too crowded. Plus, Glow's sounds system is terrible. My ears are ringing today so much more than theyd be after a night of roxy or arc. But I did enjoy PVD's set...he did play basically the same set at einslive(cant spell)...but I love that set anyway, so it was great to hear it live...Hey AYa...where u from in LI...ill be at roxy the 14th.
amdmaxx
dont worry, none given to me also, unless u wanna count the back seat encounter..
:)
Arturo, please hook me up with last 4 track names Edgar played before PVD.. Please..

the bouncers are really retarded !

me and my friend were trying go get signature from PvD, and when we gave our stuff to one of the bouncers, he wanted 20$ so that he would let us...

WTF ! :whip: :whip: :whip:

amdmaxx, I know that one of the last 4 edgar played was "GTR - Mistral." I dont remember the others that he played(he did a closer from 5:00-5:45). Then, Pete Moutso put on umek - gatex to end the night.

EDIT:

And, i'm sorry a lot of you had a bad time =(.

I hope that when GLOW moves, it picks a larger venue =/. We'll find out soon enough.

I personally like the crowd at glow(except for the drunk morons *looks at peter* =P, j/k). I was going to buy a vandit shirt, but it wouldn't have come in time. Also, not everyone needs a vandit shirt to appreciate his music. Though, I did think that his repetition of sets is.... interesting....

We'll just have to see how roxy goes. Maybe you guys up north'll be able to kick his inspiration back into him =).

I still think December's set of his at GLOW was better. But this time, I think Edgar V dropped a MUCH better house set. He knows how to lay it down! Next time Edgar V comes to glow, I might just have to stop by =P.

heh.

edgar encored with umek. his playlist was:

thomas datt - 2v2 (original)
haak - frenzy (mks remix)
m.i.k.e. - turn out the lights (original)
st. john vs. locust - mind circles
-i forgot-
-i forgot-
gtr - mistral

encore: umek - gatex (tiesto mix)

:)

omfgggggggggggggggggg 2v2 owned so hard.

Oh, and I DO have to say that when As The Rush Comes came on, I yawned 3 times. It was my only time the whole night that I did it =P. I hope that track dies out.
Highmay
I'd figure I'd join in the obligatory Glowbashing Bandwagon:

ok...I arrive at the club at 20 minutes to 9 to get my tix...well, after 30 minutes of waiting for them to set up, then another hour to let the garage next door empty out from the hockey game next door, we were finally let in...the outside was totally disorganized and borderline chaotic, with no signs or bouncers knowing what exactly was going on...

the sound sucked...did anyone else have ringing in their ear until the end of this afternoon??

my all access pass was pointless (other than to visit the DJ booth of course), since all the VIPs were packed to the gills...

people complaining that the club was hot: well when a club gets packed to capacity, what are you gonna expect?? besides, there were jet engine ACs in the back near the ground floor VIP...

EDGAR V closed...not moutso...

one last note: im already at peace with the fact that the only good thing Glow has going for them is the DJ booth (and the girls are a distant second)...so you guys dislike glow? tell us something we don't know already...you come to terms with Glow's inefficiencies, you make the best out of that party...

now...onto pvd:

other than one missed beatmatch in the middle of his set, i think this was one of the better sets ive heard from him...nobody s with PvD when he gets hard...nothing is as beautiful to watch...the last time i recall him being that hard was last november at roxy...last night, he jumped right out the gates with Digital Pressure - Aftershock...dropped Running Up That Hill...and ended with For An Angel...

Srezic
Sorry Highmay, from my view it looked like Moutso mouthed "1 more" and put on a vinyl real fast. Must have been tired =P.

Anyway, I was lucky enough that Reuben found me and gave me some earplugs(thanks a ton!). So I can hear fine today.

But yes, on many levels I agree that Glow is not a great club. I really like the DJ booth, and *most* of the crowd's vibe. But I can't wait to see what the new place will be like(then you guys from all around will have to come back to DC =P(theres your excuse daniela! :toothless )

By the way, John and Lindsey, if you read this, I'm still waiting to hear from you. And if any of you happen to know these cool people(from Atlanta) please gimme some contact infos. I dont even remember the TA names. Said they didn't post often, but read a lot.
