About the topic anyway, while it may seem like a logical assumption to say that remixing a Britney track is all about the money, it's something that you can never be sure about. Perhaps Gabriel & Dresden really like the track and have ideas in their head of what they could do with it, then there's nothing to stop them. Or perhaps they want to give themselves a challenge. Personally I think that remixing a pop song into something good, and something completely different is a very good thing and requires a lot of talent. If you keep enough elements of the original for it to be recognisable and pass as a remix, then that shows large amounts of how the remixer can make so much out of so little.
Also, for progressive house and trance remixes of pop songs, it is certainally not something new. The Light (well known and very respected progressive house duo) have already remixed "I'm A Slave For You" by Britney Spears. Also in the mid 90's, Dekkard who was a well known producer of progressive trance and house remixed many non electronic tracks including Paula Cole and OMC and Brothers & Rhythm have done countless of them. Remixing something of a different style is IMO very interesting, especially if they manange to make something good out of something terrible.
If this is a real remix, then yes, I'll definitely take a listen. And no, I don't like Britney Spears either. |

lol aloep you typed a paragraph. what a big leet nerd you are trying to get more nerds on your side against some guy who is getting you mad you ing sissy. oh yeah to all the people who said britney justin etc are good man you're umm very ing stupid. circus acts like this thread are very funny to me as i see like 1000's everyday i read them once in a while like today i popped upon this 10 page war of retards. anybody who takes anything seriously on forums is stupid beyond believe and has never gotten that's for sure 100% sure. unless they bought the . i am getting sick and tired of all these stupid idiots posting 20 lines saying that somebody else is stupid AND ACTUALLY being serious. i mean this is all funny and when i participate in flame wars and funny threads like this i am doing it for the entertainment and humour NOT because i am seriously offended by what anyone says or that i really want to prove someone wrong or want to show that my dick is bigger than someone elses, or that i am leeter than you. what is all this don't diss a track until you hear it why not. everyone always predicts what will be like movies, games, music, everything. it's called hype it can be negative or positive. and trust me this track could be good to a certain extent but it will have to modify the original alot actually completely revamp it and maybe it will be a versus remix with squarepusher and aphex twin helping out then it could have a possible outside chance of potential greatness. a heavy bassline, compressed kicks and hats, and a "sweeping" pardon the gay term synth while britney moans and groans with madonna having an i am still 30 not 50 years old orgasm singing will not impress me.
to end this little rant: which i don't post often in many stupid ass threads:
i know good production don't ask me how or why i am not making millions off my tracks that's a bs answer. but i know this is not going to be a good production, gabriel and dresden are overhyped wussies who look for pussies in clubs and then talk about in interviews with other dj's... and say those pussies they found sing for em on tracks. gabriel and dresden are not that good at all really, some tracks are okay nothing groundbreaking though. but well anything can sound good on drugs eh tranceEEEEEaddicts. stress the EEE. :eyespop:

I think you have completely misunderstood my point.
No, saying Britney is e most certainally does not make you ignorant. Read back and I never said Britney is good. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, be it negative or positive. What I have a problem with is when people start judging others because of their music tastes and generalising, saying EVERYBODY who listens to Britney Spears is stupid like that previous poster just said. You can't pigeon hole all listeners into a group. Are you feeling what I'm trying to say now?
I'm not trying to prove that I'm better than anyone else here, and I respect the opinions of everyone.

He's just defending himself calm down. I agree that the guy was acting ignorant and said a lot of stupid stuff though. I don't think he was stating all people with a certain opinion are ignorant but simply that when the say their opinion is "the right one" and that everyone else is "ing stupid" for thinking otherwise THEN they are considered ignorant. If is your linguistic equivalent of lady, than I can't disagree with this statement.
Most of the vocals in their productions are the results of them remixing tracks that already have vocals, not picking up "pussies" in clubs to sing for them (German producers* do that). Jes Brieden and a few others being the exception (Jes makes her own music, so she is not picked up in a club).
* Jan Wayne obviously.
EDIT: While I agree with aloep, the intelligence of people who listen to Britney can certainly be questioned. |
