Have to agree with joeh. My family and I have each used Dell computers for the past 5 years and haven't had any problems.
I had a similar problem as you're describing with an old Gateway computer but I can't remember for the life of me how I fixed it, it was long ago. :( I always just reboot if I have a problem, but I'm sure you've done that plenty of times in your efforts to solve this. ;) |

hmmm ok. go back into safe mode
then go back display settings and tell me exactly what you see there.
it could be something is messed up with your power settings also
you can click the screen saver tab in the display properties (right click desktop go to properties) and make sure that all the screen savers are off. then go to power and make sure everything there is set to never. |

it doesnt say what card and the setting wont stay at 16..always goes back to 32 even with no boot. monitor is a 17 inch flat if that helps |

doesn't say the vid card? thats weird.
change the screensaver/power settings. then reboot and see what happens. if its still donig the same thing boot back into safe mode and then we'll set up the vid card as the standered VGA one so you can get into normal windows, then you can install the drivers for the card. do you happen to know what type of vid card you have exactly? |
