you need to reinstall all the drivers with the ?'s

yeah ?'s are bad

it looks like alot of stuff wasn't installed right on your comp

where exactly did you order it from? right off the dell site or somewhere else?

it shouldn't. ethernet should have nothing to do with it. but windows xp has drivers to almost every ethernet card so it should be working.
so even when yo uget things fixed, you won't be able to get on the internet :)

i'd try installing the newest drivers to your vid card off the ATI website.
i'm pretty sure the problem is, windows is not working with the video settings you have set for your video card. your computer isn't going into hibernation, your monitor is jsut not recieving a signal from your video card because windows isn't sending it to the card.

but its hard for me to figure out what is exactly wrong and how to fix it exactly without being able to sit at the computer and see it for myself.

Yea- thats an above average video card- needs better drivers and the XP standard wont cut it

"SETUP WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION. TRY TO SETUP YOUR DISPLAY ADAPTER WITH A STANDARD VGA DRIVER BEFORE RUNNING SETUP"

i'd bet you'd like to insert ur floppy disk ;) ;)

by the way, i kinda doubt that a dell would come with a 128mb radeon 9800, that might be the reason it's not working - xp is trying to install wrong drivers, 3d drivers for a regular card or something.
