by the way, i kinda doubt that a dell would come with a 128mb radeon 9800, that might be the reason it's not working - xp is trying to install wrong drivers, 3d drivers for a regular card or something.

my daddy got it for me so im not surprised that he got a good card

i have no burner on my ty dying DELL laptop so i cant even transfer those drivers:(

oh wait is that card bad or good lol??? :nervous:

so I'm psyched to get my brand new 2.8 ghz 120 gig Dell today right???

but noooooo DELL has to suck ass as usual...

as soon as I turn it on (after 2 screens, one being "read your damn agreement" and the other confirming my service tag and all that) the ing thing goes into hibernation. or at least I and the technicians believe its hibernation. basically the monitor light goes to orange and the comp itself stays on. so tech support had me reinstall the PREINSTALLED xp and nothing. so the idiots are sending me a new one. but i was soooo psyched to get this and now I have to wait 2 weeks for another one to come. if someone can help mee please do so. i have a perfectly good new flatscreen going to waste :(

Ps please dont move this thread to anonther room.i need help tonight and nobody goes to the help rooom.if u do move it, please move it tomorrow, pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease

its sooo frustrating its like having a new car and no fuel :(:(

im just a poor damsel in distresssss

Dell is based where I live. I'll go kick Michael Dell's ass if you want. :) Just say the word!

/me types on his Dell

Actually they laid off some of my relatives, and motorolla also. I should go beat them up, but this isn't Jersey.:(

I had that happen with a laptop and said gimme an extra laptop battery for the hassle, and they did, because they were my bitches

by the way you committed several crimes dave. You conspired to commit a felony, if you had indeed gone and beat his ass you would have been charged with burglary first degree (felony) because you entered premises with INTENT to commit a crime, and the conspiracy would fit that nicely, and then the assault would be raised to a higher degree because it was in the comission of a felony.

Yay law!

Drivers wouldn't make it not display. The best thing would be to know a friend thats handy with comps.. but i guess you don't have one. What I would first do is open up the computer and check to make sure that the Graphics card is properly installed. If not, it looks like the people at Dell mite have ed up the installation of XP. I would borrow a Windows XP disk, reformat the harddrive and install a fresh geniuine copy of XP instead of the one that comes with Dell. Doing a fresh non-Dell infected install may solve the problem
Orbax
doubt that its a software problem
