wienerschnitzel>>> i do not understand one thing, when my friends were in USA [i haven't been there] they said that most of new american friends asked them to "do the russian accent"... it's very easy to simulate russian accent to us when we know russian lang, but isn't it enough that we have a great Baltic accent ourselves:conf:

well, i would have to guess that they assumed your friends were russian... i hope they didn't, but some people are pretty naive. i would enjoy a great baltic accent!

But, what's the true concept of "foreigner"?

Someone with a different accent? People from other cities can have different accents as well. Specially in the old land (Europe, Asia, Africa) where languages have developed deeply and every region has its very own particular way to speak. You're Canadian, aren't you? Would you consider someone from Vancouver as foreigners? They've got a distinct accent (the same for the Quebecqois people).

i haven't heard any kind of accent in vancouver but i would consider the quebecqois foreign because they have a vast diffrent culture and speak a diffrent language and have an accent. However i don't consider any TOTA's foreigners... i guess everyone has diffrent ideas of what foriegn is. If you are asian or african american and you have lived in my town all your life i don't think your a foriegner.
