Guv/KH/Skybar/Drink/Acid Lounge, etc to me is the pure sign of bloatedness and commercial bull that is only tolerable on the occasional big event.
A club isn't supposed to be 5000+ people per night, a struggle to get around, terribly priced drinks, staff that treat you like dirt for the most part because you are just 1 of a few thousand ppl. (and they seem to be mostly police foundations squares) Sure, big talent graces the decks there, but seems only enjoyable in the KH, and the renovations there are under 1 yr old (maybe 2).
For the most part, the people ain't so great either, no different than most places, but a normal club in TO hold 1000 ppl or less, and the crappy ppl factor is pretty magnified in a place like guv due to the pack mentality there. (it's not unusual to see groups of 30 bypass the line after greasing the bouncer).
KH is the only saving grace about that complex. As great a set as MO can lay down, I'd rather see him @ the Zone or Element, instead of the barnyard that is Guv. |

Id rather have juice monkeys and plastic strippers than sketchy people...ive worked for system and been to kool haus countless times... its just better than that no good dirty basement they call a club. |

so you like the fact that it can take 15 minutes to get from the back of guv to the front and you get sopped with juicemonkey sweat on the way there??
big clubs are nice - nice sound, nice light nice deco, but when they're rammed, they're ...
the people in a club make my atmosphere, the poeple i'm there WITH, not everyone else, everyone else
they can do their own thing for all i care
and GUV is the weekend KING of SketchPadz!!!
cmon man, b4 the renovations you'd run out of fingers & toes to count all the people passed out on the counches, people dancing with their eyes closed in a walkway or washroom
the sketchpads who just love to get ed up will got to a big sight big sound place live guv to help the chemicals do their thing

And juice monkeys aren't sketchy? Wow......... I guess I must not know the meaning of sketchy then. I guess the couple that I saw at Guv on Saturday night that could barely support their own body weights they were so ed weren't sketchy, they were just juice monkeys...
I don't know what caused you to have such a low opinion of System Soundbar, but it's too bad because I've had some of my best times there... :conf:
p.s. and yeah, I know you voted for KH, but Guv and KH might as well be the same place in terms of sketch factor. |

Gross and nasty and very dirty and with ty music.
My brother is not into the scene, but hes been to both system and Kool haus when Pvd came.... i can tell you that he praised the vibe and crowd of Kool has at these trance events, but like me, wanted system sound to collapse.
This is coming from someone that is an 'outsider'
Also, the staff are ty, rude, and to the specific promoter, well.. she can go herself.
P.S, Sketchy juice monkeys are better than 50 year old heroine induced skeleton crack dealers. |

1) you don't know what you are talking about. I've never seen anyone who behaved as if they were on heroin. and as for being older, the majority of cracked out 50 year old clubbers can be found at guv or viva, rarely (if ever) at system
2) system is no more dirty than guv. i have been at both clubs when they turned teh lights on and guv/kh is always filthiest (due to the fact that it is a larger club)
3) i seriously doubt that there is a higher ratio of ppl on something at system. I am almsot always partying sober at system as are most of my friends
4) system is not gross. the decorations might not be as nice as guv, but it is meant to be more undergound. you know, how our music evolved? a lot of the ppl who go there have been in the scene a long time. not just since it became cool and euro started rippig of elements of trance. if you go to MTL, (which IMO has kept their undergroud scene alive, their best clubs look more like system and less like guv). Guv is where the 905'ers call home. a lot of the ppl that go ther have no clue who the dj's are and what the music is all about they just go for the party...whereas system attracts a lot of ppl that go for the DJ's
I voted for GUV despite the crowd, not because of it. I have a lot of respect for system- i love that club. amazingly nice staff and wicked vibe. |

they got rid of mark scaife and brought in coleridge.
NOT a huge improvement IMO....But Dekoze as a resident- now ther's and improvement! |

This is just what i think....
System bar, is the worst piece of hole in TOronto.. I could make a better club in my basement.
Its ty, ive always had a ty time there, and there was defiantely an atitude problem.. at least in Kool Haus i could breath. |
