You must be talking about a different club. Whenever I've been to System, it's been awesome. The sketch-factor is much lower than at Guvernment. The vibe is great, the crowd is very knowledgable.
System is a pretty good club, but I personally think it's overhyped. The only reason it gets so many votes is because Invasions are held there, and the management is smart enough to book grea talent. As a venue - it's nothing special. |

Part of the reason I don't like System is because I really, really do not like the crowd in the main room on a regular prog night. Actually, now that I think about it, I don't particularly enjoy the prog crowd - anywhere. It just happens that I've been a part of it the most on Breathe Fridays at System.
However, I have totally enjoyed System on Bang Saturdays and special events (like Fukhouse, or Halloween of 2002). It's the Breathe crowd that turns me off the place. |

This is too easy, and I will probably regret this later, but I don't think System is the one with the attitude problem.

i havent had any problems with staff or her, and yes i know who she is...

| I don't know why some of you have to get so passionate about the venue being good or bad. To me it’s about the music and who I'm with. I don't really give a damn about the sketchy people. I love both the guv and KH equally but I voted for KH because I've always had a great time there no matter who was on the decks. |

To me the club feel is the feel that there is over 2 thousand people there. I don't mind going to clubs and it being full. Of course there are exceptions but in the large scheme of things, I have never had problems with Guv. Different rooms, lots of people, well dressed people, ocational juice monkey and ginos/ginas, that's what a club is to me.
I just stated my definition of a club in my previous post. But others may have other views. Its where I expect the unexpected and get overwhelmed everytime. I like System but its predictable. There are only some many set ups they can do there. They don't have dancers (one of the main reason Guv feels more like a club). I could go on and on regarding the differences.
Sona and Aria in Montreal and Roxy in NYC are the other places that I consider clubs (that I have gone to). Everything else are something that I have no word for. Maybe hang-out places. Meh, I have to develop a word now. :)

Guv/KH/Skybar/Drink/Acid Lounge, etc to me is the pure sign of bloatedness and commercial bull that is only tolerable on the occasional big event.
A club isn't supposed to be 5000+ people per night, a struggle to get around, terribly priced drinks, staff that treat you like dirt for the most part because you are just 1 of a few thousand ppl. (and they seem to be mostly police foundations squares). Sure, big talent graces the decks there, but seems only enjoyable in the KH, and the renovations there are under 1 yr old (maybe 2).
