Erik, I think there are really cool summer programs at most universities in the US. It might be worth researching especially if living expenses (room, board)and tuition are reduced because of the drop in demand. Also there are less expensive "Junior" colleges in California (maybe other states too?). Most of the classes are comparable to what you would take in your first two years at an American university. And the units do transfer.

You do know that you can't go to most clubs unless you are 21? At least it's 21 where I attend school.

agreed, i go to one of these community colleges she speaks of and its definatly a lot cheaper. international students pay a lot less too compared to like a real school like miss stanford here :P.
for us california residents its only like 12 bucks per unit, horribly raised from the previous 7 bucks becuase of the CA budget crisis.
international students pay like 100 per unit or something, if you take 15 units, it'll be 1500 not including room and board which might be cheap if you room up with a few people.
the funny thing is our school has some like overabundance of swedish students for some reason, theres like a million of them.
i know like 2 well and they said soemthing about the government giving out money to you guys to go to school in the US.
so basically.... college=good hs=bad

community college = cheap and good
if you want more info PM me and i can like link you up with one of my friends and i bet they can give you better first hand info.

I would finish up school out in Sweden. Go to college out here and enjoy yourself. If you're in college, I think you will be able to experience more. I think you'll gain more knowledge of not only what youre studying, but also life in general out here. And it definitely depends on what state you go to for your education like others have touched on earlier. I live in California, and yes colleges are expensive, but consider them. Greats UCs and Cal States.

From my experience High School in the US is a in joke. If you decided on High School and by any chance got sent to the one I went to, which had about 30 foriegn exchange students, then it would be such a waste of time and money for you.

Ummm....have I missed something or has nobody really mentioned scholarships to you? I mean, The US govnt. is more than willing to pay money for foreign kids who are fairly intelligent to go to school. It's really not too hard to get money for college here in Florida if you have half decent grades, and just saying that you are from Europe and want to study here will get you a long way, I'm sure!

But on another note...can we just switch places? lol...I live right down the road from one of the top Universities in the nation, and I can't ing stand this country any longer. You could go to UF and I could get the out of here. rofl...

Seriously though...scholarships man, FREE MONEY!(I know, term used losely, cus this is the US, but still...reletivly free, lol):D

okay i have almost decided, i will go to high school for one year, and i will read courses that i won't read in sweden and i will learn english, i will also learn much about a new country :)

perhaps it will be , anyway it will be an experience of life.

and besides, i can go there for collgae too since my parents pay high school :)

Andrew come to Canada to study man. Forget the American school system, it's e. Plus the colleges here are much cheaper. :D
DrUg_Tit0
Yes, if you already want to go there, you might consider Canada instead.
St_Andrew
very true. i will check that out. but canada is, as i said before, much more like sweden, so it will be less of a personal experience. but i will surely consider it! :)

4 days left before i have to decide :S

I've never been to Sweden but I'm willing to bet that culture, lifestyle, etc. aren't that similar between Canada and Sweden.

And half of the Northern States (where you'll probably get sent) go through the same cold weather that the major Canadian cities experience.

They both have some similarities. But you're right they're both different, lifestyle and culture wise. Trust me Andrew choose Canada...We also have a better nightlife in cities like Toronto and Montreal (IMO of course ;) )
