would be better if you had just took a 30 seconds sample in high quality...sounds not bad, but in this data reduced version a gameboy would sound good too...

none of these sounds you have made so far have been anything special really.
as for them sounding similar to the original
iv heard better from a soft synth.
iv heard airwave made on vaz2010 and it sounded alot better
ill try to find the sample, then again it was Guyver who made the sample, and the guy has alot of talent with vaz. |

Um I just listened to that Superstrings sample and it sounded as FAT and Professional as it gets IMO, dunno what TranceMaster is listening to these on.
Edit: Man the difference between the JP8080 and the softsynths is just brutal. To get a sound that fat with all software it must take a lot of ****ing trickery. |

im sorry that i dont meet your requirements trancemaster.
Funny that professionals such as goldenscan have emailed me asking me to write more tutorials such as the sounds ive posted. One of the best sound designers.. M.Schleis told me that the sounds i programed in the v station sounded great. I dont need your approval to know i can make a nice sound.
There is always going to be someone who can make a better sound than someone else.. but does telling me that john doe can make a better sound than me really mean anything? Why dont you show me a better sound.. (rather search through tutorials and pre-sets untill you find something you can use)
Whatever.. its people like you who make me wanna stop helping others out.

lol
ok
u dont need my approval, and where did i say you needed it?
this is a forum i was giving my opinion on your sound and how i didnt think it was good, and that iv heard better, and yes once i find there samples again i will upload them for you to hear.
and if you cant handle it when someone says something negative about your sound then maybe u shouldnt post them up at all.
im allowed an opinion like everyone else, there is no point in sucking up and saying it sounds amazing, when to me it doesnt.
yes others like it, fair play to them.
i dont, simple as that.
now of course it doesnt matter to you if i like it or not, but im still gonna give my opinion on it.
edit: another thing, the better sounds i heard from software where made from Guyver, but im sure before he used software its impossible for it to sound better than your example rb2k. right? |

rb2k1,
I think the main difference betweeen the two cygnus-x sounds is the fx setting and maybe the timbre. But compliments, it sounds nice.

Rb2k1's version of superstring was fanastic, very phat, rich, crisp, and destroys ccpurnos version on the zeta. Like ive said a million times on these forums. Hardware sounds better than software period!
Rb2k1: your vstation samples sound horrible and it's not your fault at all. You did a great job but the vstation is a horrible synth. It has horrible filters, sounds plastic and has a very cheap sound to it.
The zeta is without doubt the best software vst for trance. But in general software isn't as good as hardware in terms of sound quality and effects. Maybe in 2-3 years as computers get faster and more powerful, they may catch up. What i would like too see is more vsts running on dsp cards like the new virus b coming out on the powercore. Its easier to work with vsts than with hardware. I hope clavia, novation , waldorf and others follow in the virus footsteps and make some vsts for dsp cards like the powercore.
Trancemaster uk: guyver makes great stuff with vaz just like flutlicht, but when a melody is great even a ty sound will sound good on it, and flutlicht makes amazing melodies. But listen to the sound quality and compare it to stuff made with hardware and there is a huge difference. For example the latest tune by rapid eye (the thrillseekers) santa cruz is an amazing tune, but listen to mk-s's remix which is great but you can definently hear the difference in quality between the two songs especially in the lead sound. Thrillseekers work with hardware while im pretty sure mk-s uses reason and softy synths as you can distinctly hear the differences.
if you still not convinced check this out

listen to the demos under "commercial samples"
they are done with hardware like the virus , nordlead, there is no man on each who can get a zeta to sound that good because it just can't. the nordlead 3 pads at the bottom are the best ive ever heard. |
