Wow. System was beyond rammed. I can't remember it being that busy since DJ Dan way back when during the Goldclub saga. We barely made it in on time to get our coats checked, as shortly thereafter they were no longer able to check any coats it was so busy! But it was DEFINITELY well worth it - although I only heard about 1 hour and a half of Richie's set, it was absolutely sick and amazing. I'd never heard him spin before so I don't know how this particular set compares to others, but it was definitely get down and dirty goodness :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: I want more!!!!!!! Where can I find sets like that?????
Shoutouts to Ezekiel, Skeletor, Your Mother, Jenna_rae, Schryer, Endlesswave, Highroller, Mr. Furious, Tordan & sis Sue, crazedcanuck, Dallastar, Skipper (sorry I missed most of your set - I was outside waiting in line to get in for a bit and then inside waiting in line to check my coat!), Skaborough_fats, Max_cued (thanks for the lift and good times, as always) and to lots of System regulars that I haven't seen in awhile... I love it there - vibe was fun, as always... Sorry if I missed anyone, but holy cow, was it crazy... some pics to follow!
And MattVagrant, I do believe I heard someone drop "Scandal in New York", although I think it might have been Deko-ze and not Richie at that point. Thought of you :p |

It was great to see some familiar TOTA faces. Skipper, from what I heard of your set you were right on! Soon enough you'll be in the main room. TechnoAddict, it was great to meet you and thanks for the kind words regarding my work!

Hi Ryan! nice to finally see you again last night. Would you mind sending me those photos of myself to me via email? sarahmixington at sympatico.ca :)
I don't even know what to say about last night - except why do I look so serious in every photo taken of me?! I was having a ton of fun! It was great to see so many TA crew, including Graham and Jeff finally! Thanks to John of course, I was really honored to be playing last night.
I saw Richie after my set and told him that I would forgive him for showing up at 1:30 and missing my set if he took my CD. However I had to give it to the booth guard, and who knows what he did with it, because he was being a total ASS to me. :(
Towards 2am it was just getting ridiculously packed and hot. Richie was meh for the first half hour, but then he got GOING! He played technasia - Acid storm - love that track! But a combination the crowd, the heat and my shoes, plus my BF had to work at 7am, I called it a night early... :(
Someone please tell me that Richie got boring after I left. |

Is it just me or do 99.9% of the folks in those photos (other than Ritchie & Deko-ze) look like they are on 5 E's?

Pros:
1) Overall coolness of the crowd
2) Getting to meet my first TA's (hi all)
Cons:
1) Cost of entrance
2) How ridiculously hot it was inside
3) The music
All in all, I probably wish I would have stayed home and saved some money (of course with the exception of meeting some TA's). I found Richie's set to be stale for almost the whole night. He was also very experimental for a while and the crowd wasn't digging it. Other than that, it was way too hot inside that I felt like I was going to pass out from time to time.
The coat check also ran out as I was 10 coats away from the front of the line (after waiting for 20 minutes already). I didn't like having to stash my coat, but I didn't have much a choice (thx Pixiechick for the advice on where to stash it!!)
Final comment is that the place was way too rammed. It finally cleared up around 4 or so so you could start getting into the music. I can't recall a similar club night in recent history where I was bumped so many times.

All in all it was a great night...Only complaint was that the rear speakers weren't working and I was told that it was an amp issue...oh well...Yeah I found it hot too but I was wearing a hoody since it was SO cold outside...It was good to see the Superfriends last night AND seeing Jenna & DJ Mike Schryer was also a great surprise...
Dekozee was his ususal kickass self and dropping some great beats and Ritchie was SOO amazing.I was so glad that he was dropping his trademark techno tracks that I have loved for so long...Its my 3rd time seeing him live and I never get dissapointed...
thats pretty much it....still tired from last night so its time for a wee nap;)
nite all
