its all personal prefrence. In the end if it sounds good it dosnt even matter. Protools is industry standard for recording, and editing. Its not known for its strength as a midi sequencer though, I know protools better then any other program out there because i do post production for film and i think the midi interface is pretty finiky, not as expansive as a program like logic. For sequencing i tend to stay to programs that are specificly designed for it. If your actually trying to get a job in the industry its best to know how to use all the main programs, Im pretty fluent in Protools and logic and im using Nuendo and cubase right now just to learn them.
by the way what protools setup does porter use?
Oh and on a note of software vs hardware, One of my instructors was one of the guys in skinny puppy and hes done work for metallica, bryan adams, and tons of other mainstream groups, hes thinking of selling his entire hardware studio because software is sounding so good. I was going to buy a full synth like a virus untill i started using reaktor 4 and everything else by NI. Nothing beats the flexibility of reaktor unless you go hardcore into programs like MAX/MSP. |

Yes well done a very witty and a truly convincing argument that doesn't leave me thinking you have the mental capacity of a 12 year old.

And still no reasonable arguments contrary to my opinions hmmmmmm seems to me like nobody has any other than 'ur stupid' well done give yourself a pat on the back on your amazing response, it's going down in history. Then again I should be careful with sarcasm because it seems you have trouble grasping the structure of a standard conversation.

Ive had enough of this forum, I havnt learnt anything new in the time Ive been browsing this site, except how feeble minded some poeple really can be.
Im going to try and find a forum where people can have sensible discussion without resorting to playground banter.

^^ That is funny and quite hypocritical. First you tried to make personal insults, you said how terrible we are THEN you said "omg this is my last view" to get the last word in, but do you seriously think that I'd believe that?
You can't really come as a 'n00b' to a forum and say 'blanket statements' such as "all professionals use logic". Because it is clearly not true, and any 12 year old would realize that. That is like saying the world is flat... today. Doesn't fly. At all.
Anyways, I don't really know if you know that what you said was wrong (in which case you are a troll), or if you are just mis-informed. I'm not sure which I'd prefer either :rolleyes: .

if all the pro's use logic then, why does this selection use these sequencers...
reason: john o'callaghan, robert nickson, george hales, airbase, christian rusch, c-quence, etc.
fl: octagen, flutlicht, shokk, cosmic gate, nordlicht, etc.
there is many more but it isn't worth banging on because you blatantly won't listen |

offcourse you can say what you think..
but most people in here (except for some that is new and is like you) say what they like and maybe what they like about it.
you say that if you don't use logic you aren't pro and you can't make any good music...
and the other's that is like you with hardware and such says the same thing....
you MUSt use logic/cubase and hardware.. otherwise you aren't pro and you can't make good music.. some even say that you can't clal yourself a producer aslong as you do'nt use logic/cubase with hardware
and as luke said... you just don't listen to what we say so no need to go on really. |
