You seem to forget:
* Spending at least 20 hours on a plane each weekend and then getting 1 hour of sleep before doing an 8 hour gig where everyone expects him to mix 100% flawlessly, if not they will slate him from here to the next millennium
* Taking constant from the mp3 brigade when he doesn't play all the newest and freshest promos
* Running a label, massive touring, producing AND running his own night
* Maintaining a marriage in between all the edm business mayhem
* Always having to be friendly and smile to all the people who come up to him after his gigs even though he feels like , cos if he isn't then people will say he's an arrogant bastard
And the list goes on. Being a superstar DJ is a LOT harder than you think. As for why he hardly ever smiles, I think beema said all the needs to be said there.

i agree with most of the post i've read PVD is more reserved but it doesn't mean he has no fun when he plays and don't feel happy ! i think the fact he is east german is important too because they were more reserved too and his childhood behind the wall maybe is a fact too but ....well yeah i admit im a huge fan of PVD ....:)

They are probably both as popular as the other, but it doesn't affect PvD's performance and integrity as a musician like it does with Tiesto (refer to half-assed DJ sets, Tiesto In Concert aka Altar Of Tijs, MCs hired by his management to push Tiesto's products, letting Geert Huninink and Tom Holkenborg do your productions, extreme fixation on Tiesto's personality where as Paul is shy and prefers to be in the background etc.)
But this debate will no doubt throw this thread way off topic. If anyone wants to address my arguments, hit me with a PM. |

I agree, I think Tiesto has become too arrogant now, his style is nothing like it used to be.
At least with PvD I know what to expect, and Ive always had a good time seeing him.
I though Tiesto was mediocre at best, even at the NEC. |

Didn't say that ;) Just felt like pointing out that supestar DJs are humans like us and that being one has loads of stress involved (as well as huge benefits of course). |
