why is his mood so pissy? whenever I see tiesto and armin on a video they jump and look happy while, pvd seems to be mad all the time? might be a stupid thread, but my q is, is PVD one of those bad mood guys? :haha:
also, how do i change my name from TechnoSpeeder to TranceSpeeder? |
it's one or the other....pvd loves what he does and that's to spin in perfection on the other hand tiesto and armin wanna have a good time even if they beats don't match up sometimes....but pvd is smiling alot more lately |

Im fairly certain this has been discussed at nauseum in the past on here.
I think it stems from his colder, more introverted east-german mentality.
It's a running joke that he never smiles, but needless to say, I've seen him smile on plenty of occasions. Not everyone has to be a giddy schoolgirl and flailing their arms around when they are spinning. Maybe Tiesto could mix better now and then if he wasn't so busy jumping around. |

Tiesto didn't trainwreck. The sound/power went completely dead. We had a clear shot of him (two rows back from the stage) and he wasn't even touching the deck when it happened. He immediately ran up to the tables and stared down in disbelief. Some people on stage ran over and whatever they did fixed the problem. He looked stunned. There were a million cords up there with a hundred people walking all over them (ok, so I'm exaggerating)...something was bound to happen.

Well sometime later during his set his beats weren't matching up and you could hear the double beats ouch :(....he's still my second fav dj though.....there's only one reason pvd closes out every year..just liek busta says

the guy is not in a "pissy" mood. paul just has more concentration and is totally in the zone. he base his set from monitoring the crowd. it's not because he is arrogant or in a bad mood. i have seen pvd plenty of times and the guy does smile and jumps around. yeah, maybe your just a "noob" and judges people without even knowing the slightest knowledge about the certain individual.
haha beema, your post is hilarious...yeah, that is true , if tiesto is not too drunk and limits his jumping around. maybe he will not trainwreck in his sets. :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:
cheers

Its funny coz when PvD trainwrecks, and it happens to hte best of them coz they are human, eveyone doesn't milk it as much as they milk it when Tiesto does. Its like Tiesto trainwreck is worth a million points and Pvds is worth ten.

Actually, I'd say Tiesto is about ten times bigger a pop star judging by the area his face takes up on the respective album cover. |
No his not. Its not about album covers, thats what newbs think :p , its about album music and thats where PvD is a motorolla popstar, and it doesn't matter who Tiesto lets to help him produce, atleast his sound is always fresh and not back from 1999!

Paul looks like this because he is German!
You will find that many Germans appear this way to foreigners. I think it is a state of concentration due to his perfectionist nature.

Are you kidding? When PvD trainwrecks it's noticed for sure, mainly cos people expect PvD to mix flawlessly all the time, and when he doesn't you can be sure that he won't get away with it. However, the reason Tiesto gets so much more heat for it is because he blatantly doesn't bother to make more than a half-assed mixing effort when he is more than capable of doing it, and that is a million times worse than PvD's occasional trainwreck.

How does his music show that he is a "Motorola popstar"? And even so, if that's what this is about then Tiesto must be a "Coca Cola popstar" since he did the exact same thing as Paul for a commercial brand.

So I take it you've heard the album already? And even if we disregard that, in terms of experimenting Tiesto is no better than Paul (Out There, Movement, Ich Will (Vandit Mix), Rendezvous vs Traffic and Flight 643). And I might also add that Tiesto's "freshness" of sound (which also can be debated) is largely due to the fact that he has had the likes of Geert Huinink and Tom Holkenborg do his productions for him.

And in case you didn't notice, DJ Mag's list is a popularity contest, it says all about the skill of the DJs on it. Tiesto is the perfect example of just that. (Refer to my previous post) |
