Yeah I think my parents are pretty much the same as Mr. Pink's and Boomers. Hell, my dad got me into trance in the first place. He doesn't listen to it very often but there was a local radio show that played it every week and he introduced me to that. Plus they pay for pretty much everything I own, and go along with whatever it is that I'm doing as long as it doesn't hurt anyone.

My dad is extremely traditional....he likes the oldies, some jazz, blues, you know....

i think its hilarious that he likes trance.
he's all about "synthesizer music"

im like "its trance"

he's like "synthesizer!!!"

i dont think he'd be into D&B

lol Don't you love when your parents think they know everything about your music? I love my mom but the one time she tried to explain my stuff to someone she even confused me!
My dad just doesn't get how music can exist without words, hopeless case.
But usually they have, if only a vague idea, what I'm up to and where I might be, although my thoughts are my own!
And they just hooked me up with a system, I'm not complaining.

my parents are pretty cool about drinking and stuff and letting me go out till whenever or pretty much do what i want. i honestly think that because of this i am more open to them, and more honest with them. if parents are too strict then its going to reflect in their childrens life decisions and they may end up lying or doing things like drugs just because its the rush of not getting caught. im allowed to drink so its not a big deal to me and i do it less just because im allowed to. i like a lot of the music they used to like too so we have something to talk about (led zeppelin, pink floyd, eddie money). they were pretty big hippies back in the day from what i hear.

So, for everybody who has responded so far, are your parents still married or divorced?

Mine are divorced. About 7 years ago I told my "father" to piss off, and never show his face anymore. If I find him, I'll break his knee caps with my baseball bat.

Back to the topic: I live with my mom and sister. My mom knows next to nothing about what's going in my personal life. Sure she knows about school, grades I'm getting, etc. But that's it. She doesn't know where I go, with who, etc. I think it's mostly my fault, it's hard for me to open up and let her know if something is bothering me. I keep everything inside mostly. That's just me.
