i heard tham commercial "ooooooooooooh i wanna get out of this clothes and take a shower and blablabla.........." and then "smoke free bars and whatnot starting june(or was it july)1th"
well i think that's bull, and here is why:
1. 8+$ for a pack of smokes and more then 62% of the price is just TAXES and everybody is saying "oo its bad for your health", well if its that bad make it illegal, dont raise the prices every once in a while, take some of that tax money and give every single club restaurant etc proper ventilation system
2. second hand smoke IS a BIG problem i understand that, but with proper ventilation................????? and we have smoking areas, so what about NON smoking areas?????
3. where is freedom of choice there "im gonna sell u pack of smokes for small fortune BUT u can smoke it here, here and here, but no smoking here and here" and PLEASE dont start with second hand smoke cause like i said I DO UNDERSTAND, and it sucks poisoning people around u, but if i can go to smoking area every 15-20-30 min for a smoke im sure nonsmokers should understand my need and could move somewhere else, right?
4. u know its harder to quit smoking then it is to quit coke or heroin, right?
this is just my opinion, im not gonna quit, i would love to but its hard, so....
im sorry about grammar or spelling mistakes, im off for a smoke :) |

dude, i smoke too, but who cares, this is for the grater good...
i'm a smoker that doesnt have to smoke when he's out at night, if the world goes smoke free i really wouldnt care.
i'd probably get super fat and eat cookies and ice tea, but i would be a fat happy kinda guy...

just to let you know... those 62% taxes or whatever % it is, don't even come close to cover the Billions the provinces spend on health care costs related to smokers puffing away their lives because of their "freedom of choice" and what about the victims of second hand smoke??
and now you want to divert some money to help bars and clubs?!??! makes no sense. |

have any clubbers died of cancer because of second hand smoke from going to clubs on weekends? |

I'm a smoker, yet I think it's a good move.
Clubs was the main reason I started smoking in the first place. You know how it goes.. first it's one smoke in a club. next thing you know it's a few packs a week. Now I smoke about a pack when I go for an all-night party. It sucks !

ok so is this for real??by June 1 there will be no more smoking in clubs and bars in Toronto??
if this is true,I cant wait for it to happen,I work at a club and Iam a victim of second hand smoking and I have asthma too,so this will help me alot,if it is true!!:) |

Do you think that it could be said that a person died of second hand smoke from going to clubs on weekends !!! :rolleyes:
No !!! They just died of second hand smoke....nobody could tell where the second hand smoke came from !!!:rolleyes:
And I DO know people who died of lung cancer due to second hand smoke only. |

Ub3rTrancer i would rather quit smoking than quit toking that's for sure
ahlamalek like i said, I DO understand problem that is seconhand smoke, but in wintertime not only i can die of smoking, but also pneumonia or some like that cause smoking area in KW are outside, so when its -30 nobody gives about my health, right? |
