shiri, my sassy girlfriend, chingu (friend) - korean flicks, amazing stuff, except the second one's just a comedy, funny nonetheless

you liked shiri? Interesting storyline, but i didn't really care for the acting or directing. Heard about Chingu from a korean friend of mine, is that the one where 2 best friends go on to lead very separate lives later? I would definitley recommend My Sassy Girl, that movie is hilarious! oh that and Jeon Ji Hyun is a total babe.

Go watch L'auberge Espagnole: excellent film about a bunch of students from all over Europe living together for a year in Barcelona.

daydreamer..

Didn't mean for my sentence to be offensive =p.

Hable Con Ella is great.. The part where Caetano Veloso sings and everyone watches is beautiful.

Has anyone seen "Dirty Pretty Things"?

Though it's english, definitly not typical american film making. Loved that one.

The Suicide Club is an odd yet intigueing film. It's not anything groundbreaking, but is entertaining if you want something "different."

shiri sux ass

Chingu (translated 'friend') is the number one grossing korean flick in korea of all time. the reason? it's an accurate depiction of korean guy bonding, a concept which is really different than other cultures. highly recommended!

my sassy girl, was good, kindy syrupy and cheesy
Mebot
Seven Samurai (japan)

The Triplettes of Belleville (France)

For Roseanna ( Italy) I think its called for roseanna or something similar to that...either way you can't miss it b/c Jean Reno is in it :toocool:

Heavenly Creatures (New Zealand)

Solaris ( Russia) the 1970s original version, not the 2002 Steven Soderbergh remake with George Clooney)

Unfinished Piece For a Mechanical Piano (Russia)
Vigilante
Run Lola Run

Run Lola Run is German, and its a fantastic film. Watch it!

well shiri didn't do it for me.
My sassy girl was good, but a bit too long, could have done without many scenes that didn't add to the movie at all.

Dirty Pretty Things: great movie, each time i think immigrants i think about people migrating to america.

Hi.

I'm from Mexico and I can recomend you some nice national flicks:

- Amores Perros
- Y tu mamá también (funny s hell if you are a mexican...)
- La ley de herodes
- El crimen del padre amaro
- Todo el poder
- 21 gramos (IMO, this one is almost mexican, except for the producers and language...)
- Zurdo (although the movie is not as good as PvD's soundtrack)
- Santitos
- Japón (an excellent indie film)

and some others I'm forgetting about.

;)

isnt 'todo sobre mi madre' spanish, and not mexican?

almodovar directed it.

'hable con ella' was supposed to start off at the end of it, even.

Caetano Veloso is a musical genius <3
that song had never been so beautiful
