- 21 gramos (IMO, this one is almost mexican, except for the producers and language...)

even the language. i watched the movie a second time taking into consideration that it wasn't only directed, but also written by a mexican talent, and the movie itself seemed completely translated and casted for an american audience. it had the exact same feel as 'amores perros' and even looked mexican. you cant deny that benicio del toro's character gave off the vibe of a rehabilitaded mexican criminal, or that his place looked mexican. that the Pecks were the typical mexican high-class family or that the British woman was really supposed to be a spanish chick.
it's a mexican hollywoood production.

far from it. the soundtrack did go well with some scenes, and it was specially nice to hear PvD at a theatre with those visuals. movie was quite crap otherwise, though.

Karakter (Character) Its a Dutch movie that won an oscar I think. There's some more good Dutch stuff, most of em have lots of sex and profanity in them though, but I guess the latter doesn't really translate :p

La Vita è Bella

come on

an ex showed me this Danish movie that had a snatch-ish feel to it, i think it was called 'The Lighthouse'. it was about a group of criminal friends and a restaurant.

im trying to think of the name of this Aussie movie i saw once, which i would classify as the most disgusting movie i've ever seen. there was this fat nympho with a skin problem doing this skinny manic-depressive type guy, and i think that was basically the whole plot. anybody know the name?

not to mention a gangsta flik as well ! basically about 3 friends from highschool to adulthood.. but you kinda have to know some korean culture to fully understand/appreciate it.. defintely worth seeing tho..:p

A Time for Drunken Horses is by far the best foreign independent film that I have seen. I forget the country but it was shot in the middle east somewhere.
