doubt he can dissapoint.
recently saw, city of god. i am so late. loved it.
El Hijo de La Novia. 9/10. my fav part is when he starts talking back to priest, and the priest can't come back with anything, brilliant.
last movie i saw was Casshern. thanx to Mysterio for the info.
hard to say since it just came out in Japan, so my copy was not subtitled and my Japanese is quite poor. kind of made it hard to keep up.
www.casshern.com to watch trailer.
or go here to watch it.
music :eyespop: :eyespop: :eyespop: scenes:crazy:
if i had a better idea of what they where saying i would be able to give out a complete rating.

That's actually the name of a movie? |

STRANGE BREW IS KING, although its canada, (eh, hoser?) and foreign for some of you, not to me. im canadian and i take much pride in this movie. It represents what a true canadian is made from: beer, bacon, and doughnuts!
Seriously now, Italian films appeal to me alot. and, yes, City Of God was good |

| Random films off the top of my head: try Rabbit Proof Fence, Whale Rider & The Castle. Granted, not exactly 'foreign' in the sense that English is spoken, but they're still foreign in the sense that they aren't American. |

Ecchi the Killer, Man Bites Dog, Cemetary Man and, uh...er..Toxic Avenger..
those are on a descending scale of quality. |

A Time for Drunken Horses is by far the best foreign independent film that I have seen. I forget the country but it was shot in the middle east somewhere. |
Oh, yes, that is an amazing movie! It's about Iranian Kurds.. so I'll take a shot and say it's Iranian.
There were many good recommendations in this thread.. definitely Cinema Paradiso, Ciao Professore, La vita e bella, Caro diario.. the Italians are always a good choice :) Almodovar, definitely! He always manages to fascinate me, even though I am always prepared for the best from him - he always surpasses it by far and leaves me speechless.
L'auberge espagnole = wicked! The characters are so well rounded.
The mexican ones mentioned.. Russian - oh, just check out the thread on top :p |

I love all movies.....I know most of you know about IMDB but that's where I go to search for movies. It has pretty much every movie ever made from any country.

| intermission, captures the irish culture perfectly, a culture full of scum! |

| Saw Balzac and the little Chinese seamstress on Saturday, was really moved by it. Jawdropping landscapes (thank that the chinese authorities let them shoot the film in China), strong acting, biting criticism towards the neglect of ancient chinese history and one of the most sincere love stories I've seen in my life on canvas. Lots of humour in it too, what do you think the answer to that old mans riddle was? ;) |

a while ago, there was a very good movie in the smaller theaters (at least in Belgium).
'La Meglio Gioventú', 400 mins =), one of the best movies i've ever seen... so so beautiful
