Now, before i get started, i just want to say that i'm a born-again catholic. I've sinned, but now i see the light. I've learned to Give Cheace a Pance.
Anyways, my quarter has just ended and i'll be waiting a month before the next quarter is in session. Well, it'll be just another day or two before i finish the code on projects at work, leaving me with about 28 days of nothing to do.
I've written many business applications, but i'd like to take a shot at making a game. While i do know a lot about the language, there are certain aspects about making a game that i have no idea about, namely graphics.
Anyways, i found a database with tons of graphics, however they are exclusive to be used in games programmed with another application called RPG Maker 2003.
and then it hit me. Make a game surrounding an attempt at professional DJing. From woring at a bum job, to getting a gig, to playing national parties and then becomming the superstar and achieving #1 status to win the game.
I'm currently programming the battle engine that has nothing at all related to fighting and EXP and all that stuff, but a system with music, feedback and a secret abuot statistics.
I'd like to really make it completely free and fun, but it's a big task and i'd like to know if anyone is interested in joining this project. It doesn't matter if you know programming or graphics or absoletly anything. i just need people who interested in helping in any way, from answering quetions to ranking songs to a plethora of things.
well, hope to here from u all soon. |

| sounds like an awesome idea. i don't know anything about code though...sorry. anyway, i think it would be cool if you could somehow load mp3s into the game to use for the music you "spin"... |

| Eh... how exactly would it be able to differentiate between a good track selection/transition and a bad track selection/transition? |

| as i said, you do not need to know any computer languages to participate. People can help with hints, ideas, plot pitches, scenarios, graphics, etc. |

| That sounds great. One question though - what does being a born-again Christian have to do with programming a DJ game? |

Was kinda asking myself the same question....lol
Anyway, this is a good idea, actually, a brilliant idea...
A few things though, Radagast asked a good question:

However, if there's one thing i can help with, it's ideas...I am in!

Thats what I was thinking. Get some original music as well, look to the producer forum, showcase some TA talent! |
