Don't know if this has been mentioned yet, but imo it would be nice if the PEQ-2 device had a frequency scale in Hz instead of this
0-128 scale. Perhaps they could make a new "advanced EQ" for demanding eqing, and keep the PEQ-2 for some basic stuff (like they did with the reverbs and samplers).
Same goes for the compressor, think it would be easier if the attack time could be set in ms instead.
Making the subtractor stereo would be good aswell :) |

Hey,
Why the hell do you think that idea behind Reason is not about VSTs ? I think Reason is good sequencer with a lots of good modules. But they needed to be extended by VSTs. Ok there can be a problem, Reason now is extremely stable, and 3rd party made VSTs can it up.
But the advantages what VSTs can bring for the Reason are great. If Reason as a seq would like to compete with Logic, Cubase it must have VST support. I think there is no point to say it is not the idea behind the Reason. VST is standard. With VSTs your possilities can go further.
Rewire is half solution. It works. Two way rewire is better idea, but direct vst support can be great. Why the hell should I use Cubase/Logic/Fruity and Reason together if i want to use VSTs.
The other thing. The sound quality. Reason mixer suxx. The interpolation algorithms about the synths and samplers is CPU friendly, but as a result the sound quality is bad.
Think about it, |

I think they will stick to what they thought up. Reason is, as said here, a complete studio setup. If you can't get the sound you want out of reason as it is you won't get it with VST support.
Do you know every possibility of reason?? I don't and I only learned to work with the subtractor but hey my sound developed compared to the last softsynth I used, just by trying out. I'm a reason 2.0 user.
Ok some things I'd like to see:
1: 24 db Bandpass filter
2: 3 osc synth with all waveforms
3: NN-XT Complete automation |

Partly I don't agree. Reason a complete studio setup. OK. But let's see the quality. I am very curious about if you can make a really phat sawlead with subtractor or maelstrom like pro53 VST can provide:) I am really curious about the sample which you load into nn19, nnxt or redrum will sound int the same quality as the wav or aiff version without sampler.
Peace. |
