| I understand Blik. I guess what I don't like about it is that it sounds too orchestral for me. When I listen to it, I get this image of some old dude in a conductor's outfit with a glowstick for a baton in front of rows of people behind casio keyboards. |

Souvenir De Chine was the unknown tune of the MASSIVE tiesto's wintergalactic thread in the unknown tracks sections.. just search and you'll find the best tune of the moment. |

According to what I've read, it seems like some people think that Souvenir de chine is an original song from Fire & Ice.:whip:
The song is from Jean Michel Jarre and it's got a lot of years now.
I think that this remix it's not bad but I find the simple arpegio really boring although the chords are quite nice :cool:
I'm waiting for a remix from Ferry 'System F' Corsten, I'm sure it'll be much better. :D

| Yes you're right. Trance now is the same from years ago just played over and over. All the 'big dj's' make a pop song and they become big. Then all they do is play the same music, just rearranged, and once in awhile make a good tune or two. |

I haven't been paying much attention to the threads lately. I didn't even know about this tune until it was released! I think it's an awesome tune, very emotional.
It's all about taste i guess. It's in the same way that I didn't like "Members of Mayday - 10 in 1" off the bat. I never knew why people got so hyped over this tune, it did nothing for me (though i take a liking to it now). Same thing for "Northern Lights" already mentioned in this thread... that tune was also highly hyped on these boards, yet i thought it was bland.
Hype can ruin the experience of alotta things that are up-and-coming, if you ask me. It can make you think what's about to come will be so damn great, it will be exactly to your liking (and more)... but that doesn't necessarily mean that it will!!
I wasn't 'tainted' with any hyped feelings prior to hearing Chine... I could've easily said if I disliked it or loved it based on what it did for me... and frankly, it did do something for me! |

you guys might bag on this tune, but who gives a , if ya like it, you do, if ya dont, you dont, so enough of this thread, i personally happen to love it, as i have all the fire and ice vinyls, except the first, they are my favourites, so whatever, also if you like them, you might wanna check the thread "FIRE AND ICE, anyone want any" because i sent all the tunes they have made and remixed to dj ts, and you can get them from him somehow
yea, i talk with jurgen leyers of fire and ice, he said they are getting good feedback from world famous djs, armin, tiesto, etc, so yea, if they like it, its gotta be good
