Hey... If you had a decent amount of money to spend for your bedroom dj setup (say approximately $5,000 USD) and you didn't want CDJs and you already have a PowerBook laptop (so you have final scratch), what do you think of this setup....
2 x 1210 MK5G Decks
2 x Shure Whitelabel Carts
1 x Pioneer DJM600 Mixer
1 x Alesis RA 150 Amp
Pair Alesis M1 Speakers
Pioneer HJ1000 Phones
1 x Cosmetic Stand
1 x Pioneer PDR609 CD Recorder
What would you change, if anything, and what would you change it to?
Is anything missing? Is anything overload? Is anything skimping on quality? I'd much rather buy quality upfront and upgrade as little as possible later...

| Ok why would you ditch the 600 vs xone? I just would like to hear your reasoning as i am sure the original poster would. |

| its a higher quality mixer. the sound quality is better, it has a four band eq and filters. i believe the xone has longer channel faders (60mm v. 45mm), i could be wrong about that. if you want effects you can buy a pioneer efx 500 or whatever effects box you fancy. i think that if you're gonna spend the money you might as well buy the best mixer you can afford. if i was to buy a mixer around a grand i would buy the xone 62. |

| I agree, get the Xone... and instead of getting Alesis M1 passives with an amp, just get the Alesis M1 MKII monitors w/ are already amplified. Ive also heard good things about the Behringer TRUTH monitors that are out now for $299 @ djmart.com [woo for shameless promotion :toocool:]. |

Xone > DJM600
Ortofon Concorde NIghtclubs possibly
I would ditch the HDJ100s and go for either the Sony MDR 7506 or Seinheisser HD280Pro or HD25 |

Great setup, however i would buy regular MK5's instead of the grandmasters and use the extra money to buy the XONE:92 as it was said above... |

Thanks for the opinions guys... please keep them coming as I am REALLY new to djing equipment...these are just pieces that I have seen mentioned many times (and what one place in DJ Magazine was offering as a setup)...I can obviously always buy these things seperately and would love to hear your opinions!
Cheers,
