another random thought:
Does anyone else find it slightly hypocritical to accuse ANYONE of slavery and colonization and genocide? I think the only cultures that havent participated in those are the ones that never ran into other people.
Its like how industrialized countries bitch at 3rd world for burning coal?
Yet every single time an argument comes up all of a sudden Serfdom, slavery, the boxer rebellion, cossacks, mongols, japan invading china...its endless. Plus most religious texts are full of such tales.
its the most ridiculous selective memory ive ever seen/heard. People do it all the time in my classes as well. Half the time all I can do is stare and wonder if they are really that stupid. Then I snap out of it and try to embarass them as badly as humanly possible in front of their peers.
