My dpt was 1/1/3 1/1/4 1/5/7 etc for the 6 months i was in there (now they havent made rev since I left :haha: :stongue: ) but we were an all star group. We didnt around and we made absolutely sure we were givin the people what they needed and wanted.
I just think that using your honest skills (which is always better business in the end) for a company that has a dishonest frame work is wrong. Thus the leaving. Im sure there are a lot of good guys workin for Best Buy. The company tends to breed evil though hehe. |

| i just bought a sony dvd player from best buy. cost 130, but for some reason it was rung up as like 110 or 120, then with a 10% which the dude at checkout seemed to put in twice it came out to 100. i think that was a good deal hehe |

| I hate having to return anything there. I have to stand in line for hours it seems like. One good thing about that place is I bought Deep Dish-Moscow there for $12.99. They had it mismarked. Suckers |

Absolutely. I feel like I'm going against the company while trying to fix its damn mistakes. I'm sorry, but it's not in me to lie to anyone, let alone a customer. It's the customer that provides me with a paycheck and not Best Buy. The least that I can do is be honest and respectful. It's a wonder that I'm even still employed there..... |

Just out of curiousity, how was it mismarked? As in it rang up at the register at a different price than what the sticker on the cd said? |

Well, I buy some CDs there, since all we have is Coconuts, which sells one CD for $20 + tax! Now we got target and FYE, but I've had no problems with BB, of course I haven't bought anything bigger than a CD or a mouse.
About the Cutco thing, I believe you guys on the point that was made about their business practices. They make really good knives though :D |

Yea, that's one thing that everyone has to love about Best Buy. We've got some really good cd prices, and our dvd's aren't that bad, either. I HAVE seen some dvd's for $22, though. :whip:
But when new releases come out in cd's or dvd's, always get them at Best Buy. Cuz the week that they debut, they lower the price of that new item for that week. Literally, they LOSE money from selling new release items. |

You think that's bad, look up some stuff on Vector Marketing / Cutco Cutlery. Their entire business model is based on screwing their employees. It works something like this:
1) Advertise that you pay anywhere from 10-20 an hour for a job that requires no experience.
2) "Hire" a bunch of high school/college kids. I say "hire" because they bring you on as independent contractors, so you get all the responsibility and none of the employee rights.
3) Make it look as if they're currently swamped, which is why they're looking to hire so many people.
4) Make the interviews look as if they only accept a select few, then invite them back on separate days for group interviews...with different people they didn't meet before.
5) During the group interview, forget the whole interview process. Instead, show them your cutlery. Sell the cutlery to the students.
6) Before work can begin, first you make them sit through a training course on how to sell. At least that's what they say, except it's really just you thinking up all the places and people you could sell to, then thinking up some more, then thinking up even more, then phoning them and setting up appointments. See, they're not really swamped. You're just going to end up selling to the people you know.
7) Before you can go out and market the product, make them buy "sample kits." Don't make it look as if you're cheating them (after all, at that point they're paying YOU to work). Say you're giving them a 50% discount...75% discount...whatever it takes for them to swallow the jacked up price and give the manager some extra money.
8) Mention that instead of paying 10-20 per hour, they pay 10-20 per appointment.
9) Let them find out that appointments rarely take an hour, and oftentimes take longer.
10) Once they've exhausted all their possible leads, get rid of them and advertise for more openings.
It's THE most ed-up business model I've seen, with the exception of sweat-shops and slavery. I personally got up to step 8, minus the training portion, and the paying-the-manager-money-to-work portion. It just seemed so odd that they'd set up their business as such, making you pay for a sample kit, hiring loads of people in one go while renting a ty office, etc... Look it up on the net, there's so much out there on them. |
kakaka my friend did this, he sold like one set. but the knives aren't too shabby. |

The only thing that pissed me off is that I had bought some subwoofers from them, and then the next ing day, they were cut 50 dollars, and came with a free amplifier. So I went into the store and asked them if they could give me the same deal, considering I had just bought the product a day before the sale but they like gave me the run-around. I thought they had a policy to where if you bought something, and then it went on sale a few days later, they would re-imburse you? Or am I thinking of another store? I know Circuit City does it? |
i think that was the wiz and they went out of business. but in that case, couldnt you just return it and then buy it again that next day? |

yeah I know they're evil. But you can get away with a lot over there.
One thing that pisses me off tough ; is when customers call us at work to buy a part to fix a machine ( consumers ) a lot of times they say that's too expensive they can get a new machine cheaper at walmart.
Walmart = Putting an independent business out of work near you. |
