well all the movies that i've watched where reviewers said it sucked and i was forced to watch it turned out to suck...so yeah from my experiences i do trust the reviewers |

| I thought it was actually a pretty good popcorn movie. I studied "the heroic tradition" in college, and I have to say much of the story line went pretty well will The Iliad, except for the fact that it seemed to take place over a much shorter time span (not ten years) and there was little god/goddess interaction, save for Achilles' mother. I thought that was a good thing, to keep supernatural elements out of the movie. I think it would have been hard to do without making it cheesy. That said, the one thing I could not stand in this movie was Brad Pitt. He was absolutely horrible as Achilles, horrible with the accent, and horrible at acting. He acts the same in every movie, and his acting here was the same as it ever is. He did do some damn good fight scenes though. Bana stole the role as Hector, Paris was very good and Odysseus, Priam and Agamemnon even in their limited roles were amazing. Go see this movie to be entertained, look over the short comings of Brad Pitt, and you will. |
