They played qualifying matches and DID NOT qualify.

What is it with all the England haters? Of course, they only invented the ing game.:rolleyes:
Germany...Italy? I don't think so. Italy and Holland always choke (especially on penalties) and Germany is too weak and old. If one of the "favourites" is going to win, it will be probably France, though Portugal might do well on home soil.
Too bad that England has injuries on defense and I'm not sure about their goaltender, but I think they'll make a run. It's about time they won something. |

You know what's funny? Italy and Netherlands have won the tournament once each, but England has never won it! Even Spain, USSR, Czechoslovakia and Denmark have won it once. Who's the team that chokes now? |

hmm...maybe because they have a lot of fans here because you know..this country was once a British colony and most people here are Anglo Saxons.:rolleyes:
They have been the victim of heartbreak and unfariness countless times. In 1986, Maradona punched the ball into the net...in 1990, they lost on penalties in the semis and in 1996 at the Euro, Gasgcoine was inches away from putting the ball into the net and they later lost on penalties. They only lost a very close game to Brazil in 2002...even the Brazilians said that the real final was with England. So don't give me this crap that England are no good...they are going to win something soon, either the Euro this year or the 2006 World Cup. |

^^^^ what ing country do you cheer for? Saudi Arabia? :rolleyes: At least I stick with my team and am proud to be of English descent. I don't just cheer for Germany (or Italy or Holland or France or Brazil or Argentina) because they've won a few tournaments and it's the cool thing to do.
And if it wasn't for the English, nobody would be playing this ing game. You'd at least think that Canadians would respect the nation that founded this country.:rolleyes: |
