So what, people don't like the english football team... don't revolve it around patriotic duties. Their players are horrible, I hate most of them.. Plus whatever they bring to field just doesn't impress me at all. |

who's being anti-English .. ? just because someone doesn't like the English national soccer team doesn't necessarily make them anti-English ..
that's as analagous as saying that i hate the Bush administration so therefore i must hate America
aside from that, just because we're Canadians does not make us obligated to have to cheer for England. I guess that means that Australia and the rest of the Commonwealth are obligated to cheering for England too .. might as well throw America into the lot since they wouldn't exist without England.. I guess you could even so far as saying that civilization began in Africa so essentially we should all be cheering for African teams.
during WC 1998 i was cheering for Nigeria because i enjoyed the way they played, yet i do not have a single drop of Nigerian blood in me.. is this a crime?
My parents, were immigrants, and I'm proud to say that I'm Canadian. And just because I don't care whether or not England wins the EC doesn;t make me any less Canadian than you.

Besides Special K...my point was that England gets so much ing flak from idiots like you who no respect for the history of the game. England created the game as we know it today and for that, they at least deserve respect. |

the point is you're comparing Euro to World Cup... well then I can say Uruguay won the World Cup twice... therefore they MUST be twice as good as England, right?
oh by the way, I don't dislike England at all, they have a pretty good team, I just prefer the Dutch because they seem to play more as a team... and since they're choke artists as well, I'm not just cheering for them cause it's the cool thing to do. |
