As long as it doesnt promote gino clonedom. You should be able to wear nice pairs of jeans and running shoes as long as they arent down around your knees IMO.
Most "style" codes promote the button shirt gino clone scenerio and ive never been down with that. |

If there's no dress code & if the staff are friendly like BOA then I wouldn't mind checkin out |
It's ironic how you mentioned how you liked BOA's staff because one of the main guys at REPUBLIK is apparently a guy who will be coming from BOA/FLUID so if you liked BOA's staff then you would probably like REPUBLIK's staff as well.Don't be suprised if you see a few current and/or former BOA and FLUID guys end up at REPUBLIK. |

Umm, i am sure they play a mixutre of both techno and progressive. |
Boa DJs play house on Saturdays, which is neither techno nor progressive. On Fridays you get one of those other two.
More than half of what you hear at the Guvernment is progressive. The only difference is that it's progressive, combined with trance, combined with a crowd, except on major huge events when they have the Koolhaus opened up.
Putting all that aside, this is sounding pretty cool. I love how people are finally starting to put some effort into the EDM scene again. Only problem is that there seems to be too many parties to choose from these days! |

I have no complaints about GUVERNMENT except wishing for some more hard trance at times. BOA's dj's really don't do much for me unless it's some international dj who comes through every once in a blue moon which interests me and makes me come out. Mark Oliver compared to Sean Miller is no comparision at all and no contest as to who wins that one.
I don't mind GUVERNMENT's crowd and they have way more hot girls compared to BOA and more variety to choose from and a way cheaper cover charge. REPUBLIK and GUVERNMENT both have liqour licenses and which is something that BOA doesn't have. |

just curious:
are you planning on playing hip/hop in one of those rooms? I'm asking since you mentioned *dance* music, so what kind of non-dance music is going to be played there?concerts and live acts like Kool haus? |

they do? well they should start serving then. (i dont know how NOT serving would make sense if they have a licence though) |

Keep telling everyone that, hopefully it'll keep the heat-seeking sausage party away from Boa for as long as possible. :D |

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!:haha: So they would go through all the trouble of attaining a liqour license and then not bother to serve alcohol:conf: :conf: Yeah that makes a lot of sense there:crazy:
You are the first person I have ever heard say that BOA has a liqour license. :eyes: :stongue:
The overall look of the club is good and their lighting is decent as well and sound system pretty damn good indeed especially in that envioronment of being in a former movie theatre which is essentially built for sound and with that system makes it sound even crazier than it is which is good.
THE DOCKS has the same sound system and yet doesn't sound nearly as good as BOA so go figure.BOA has good dj's for that type of music that they play but it isn't hard enough for me personally although their staff is very friendly and it is very orginized. |

When BOA goes out and gets Mark Oliver or Max Graham to be their resident dj then let me know and then I will gladly jump aboard the BOA bandwagon but as it stands now BOA and their current resident dj's don't do much for me. |
I'll take Sean Miller, Demi, Chus & Ceballos and Kenny Glasgow over Mark Oliver any day. Boa's got incredible residents lined up. Compare the club layout if you must (although Boa isn't aiming for tourists and I sincerely hope they never put in cheesy lasers and a mile-high DJ booth like the Guv), but as for residents, the Guv can't hold a candle to Boa. System had Max Graham as a bi-monthly resident, but it fizzled out, people got tired of it.
No disrespect to Mark Oliver but come on...
And I think what Sly_Guy meant was that they can easily get a license for specific events (i.e. NYE), they just generally don't bother because they only open an hour before last call.
P.S. I thought I mentioned this before but it looks incredibly OBNOXIOUS to be capitalizing the NAMES of every CLUB in your POSTS. |
