I'll take Sean Miller, Demi, Chus & Ceballos and Kenny Glasgow over Mark Oliver any day. Boa's got incredible residents lined up. Compare the club layout if you must (although Boa isn't aiming for tourists and I sincerely hope they never put in cheesy lasers and a mile-high DJ booth like the Guv), but as for residents, the Guv can't hold a candle to Boa. System had Max Graham as a bi-monthly resident, but it fizzled out, people got tired of it.
No disrespect to Mark Oliver but come on...
And I think what Sly_Guy meant was that they can easily get a license for specific events (i.e. NYE), they just generally don't bother because they only open an hour before last call.

I like but BOA's residents don't do much for me and I guess Mark Oliver, Manzone and Strong and all the rest of GUV's dj's don't do much for you but oh well. I don't think BOA sucks ass or anything but it's just not good for my particular taste on an average night where only their residents are playing.I am a picky guy when it comes to the music and venues I choose.I have been to BOA and have many friends which love BOA and speak highly of it and thats cool.
GUVERNMENT doesn't target tourists particularly but since GUVERNMENT is ranked as the 12th best club in the world I guess tourists are naturally going to want to check the place out.
If BOA had a liqour license then I would assume that they would start their nights off at 10 pm as opposed to the time they are starting at now and make some more money which is what I would do but once again maybe it's just me. |

are you planning on playing hip/hop in one of those rooms? I'm asking since you mentioned *dance* music, so what kind of non-dance music is going to be played there?concerts and live acts like Kool haus? |
Friday format will be "Republik on the Edge" Live to Air with Lana and DJ Schwarma in the Republik playing Rock/Alternative and inside Vision (second Room) with have DJ Thomas doing retro and anthems...
Saturday, the doors open at 10:00 with Various locals playing House in the Republik going to 7:00 AM with locals and International DJ's... Vision will be Urban early on moving to House late night with a more soulful flavour (International DJ's are booked aswell for this room)...
They will announce who the residents (Local and Inernational) are for Saturdays as they get closer to the opening date... They cannot do this too early due to commitments contractually with some DJ's.
Thursdays... they are planning as we speak
From what I have heard and read I hear they will be different kinds of concerts as well. |

BOA is an after hours club which only plays dance type of music but REPUBLIK is going to have 3 different rooms and potentially 3 different vibes to play with so you're essentially comparing apples and oranges here. |
I agree with you here....and im sure most do. Why then contradict yourself with the following???.......

BOA's dj's really don't do much for me unless it's some international dj who comes through every once in a blue moon which interests me and makes me come out. |

Mark Oliver compared to Sean Miller is no comparision at all and no contest as to who wins that one. |

I don't mind GUVERNMENT's crowd and they have way more hot girls compared to BOA and more variety to choose from and a way cheaper cover charge. REPUBLIK and GUVERNMENT both have liqour licenses and which is something that BOA doesn't have. |

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!:haha: So they would go through all the trouble of attaining a liqour license and then not bother to serve alcohol:conf: :conf: Yeah that makes a lot of sense there:crazy:
You are the first person I have ever heard say that BOA has a liqour license. :eyes: :stongue: |

The overall look of the club is good and their lighting is decent as well and sound system pretty damn good indeed especially in that envioronment of being in a former movie theatre which is essentially built for sound and with that system makes it sound even crazier than it is which is good. |

THE DOCKS has the same sound system and yet doesn't sound nearly as good as BOA so go figure.BOA has good dj's for that type of music that they play but it isn't hard enough for me personally although their staff is very friendly and it is very orginized. |

I dont know you, but from what ive gathered you are a desperate promoter. You havent even opened yet and youre talking smack about the fastest rising, and most respected club in the city. Instead of trying to find things wrong with another club, how about we hear the positives from Republik. Apples and oranges remember?? |

| As much as i agree with some of the things maxpain is saying i also dissagree about alot of things aswell... But he is not a promoter for republik... He is voicing his opinion and that is his choice... |

I am not a promoter for REPUBLIK or any nightclub period and never have been and if you knew anything about me then you would realize that I'm clearly too ugly to be a promoter for any club or anything at all for that matter:clown: :nervous: :toothless :eyespop:
Well back in high school there was this one time I told a group of my friends to come watch one of my football games after school and they actually came but I wasn't as ugly back in those days:crazy::wtf: :toothless So does that make me an ex-promoter now because I was able to fill up 3 of those seats with my buddies who left half way through the game:rolleyes::eek: |
