So how are people supposed to know whether he is any good?? Or does he expect people to just bow to his name and the fact that always spins at least 10 hours ???
It seems to me that at least half the people here are only excited because his name is so popular, and not because they have anything to base their opinions on..
EDIT. Please don't get me wrong. I know nothing about Tenaglia, and he probably is as good as people say. But it would be nice to at least to know what to expect when you pay big $ to see a DJ. |

i remember reading reviews from his marathon set at stereo a while back and they basically said the same thing, he touches on every genre of electronic music there is...everything from dark tribal prog to fluffy gay anthems....i think when a dj plays extended sets he can pull this off because hearing the exact same sound for 8-12-20 hours can get a bit much...
this will be my first time seeing him and it should be interesting...i've heard stories about how moody he can be as far as club lay-out,lighting,glow sticks etc. but at the same time i hear he often does a meet and greet with his fans in line outside of the club and on the dance floor before his sets...
as far as price, rony already stated it will be expensive:eek: if mills was $50 at the door the night of expect the same or higher but how often is danny t here!!! |

| ^^^there is a couple sets on Soulseek from him but i know him from his GU's/productions/remixes. i heard a lot of stories about him & his style and those killer marathons he makes :) i also know for a fact that he does play everything from techno/progressive/house/electro/breaks & god damn even some wicked trance ;) |

| personally the way i see it, i'm paying at least $10-$20 each weekend to walk into some club or another to see various dj's that come to toronto on a regular basis if not several times a year and usually play anywhere from 2-5 hours.....so $50+ for a rare appearance by danny t on that sound system and probably an 8+hour set is well worth it....to me anyway:) |

I agree, I have been going to events since '96 and the only time I have heard him is on dance mix CD's. Now I like so many kinds of music so I'm almost positive I will go and have an amazing time, but I want to know how many people on the Toronto board have seen DT spin live. I have a feeling it's less than 10....
Anyway, im sure we'll all be fans/experts after the night, but who has seen him already? |

not sure about tranceaddict but i know the last time he did his 20 hour marathon set at stereo quite a few off the tribe board went and their reviews were incredible....
simply put you don't command that kind of money and generate huge hype everywhere you go by accident! like i said, i've never seen him but from the reviews i've read and from what i hear about his live sets i definately don't want to miss this... |

trust me...if you like house music, even the least bit, Danny will blow you out of the water. His music isn't too "gay" (i.e. Frankie Knuckles), and he is just, well...EPIC. to say the least.
I have a set from april 2002 with Danny Howells, and he can be a bit tribal at times. His GUs (10 - Athens, 17 - London) are somewhat ambient. Sign up on dtourism.com if you want to read people's reviews of his sets. |

why do you say that? |

- He hasnt allowed one of his sets to be recorded in AGES thats why.
- It's also really easy to rename an mp3 and put on Danny Tenaglia or whatever name on it, people do it all the time to get people to listen to their mixes (why? who the knows dont see how this would help promote someone but whatever). Case in point does anyone remember the "S+D Delta Heavy 2 Mix" that was floating around this years WMC? Same . If you come across a Tenaglia set from a recent date it will be fake 100%. Trust!
