what can you tell me about alterered states of consciousness through LSD & mushrooms?

havent tried these drugs but have heard that they alter your consciousness, making/allowing you to see things fundamentally different. experiencing matter as energy is one thing that i have heard.

i am not interested if it is good or bad to do drugs, silly things you do when you are high or if you experienced your friend as an ant-eater.

i would like to hear if anyone has had experiences with these drugs (or others) that changed your consciousness, if these drugs opened your mind to see things differently, and if these experiences changed your perception of things even after the drug wore out.

Having tried LSD and mushies on several occasions, I would say that LSD provides the much more powerful *mental* buzz. Mushies are a good *body* buzz.

With that being said, my first *real* LSD experience was in the summer of 1997. We were at a festival of one of the more popular hippie bands of the time (band name is besides the point since this is a Trance forum).

So..my friend and I found some excellent blotter hits from some random guy on the runway. Both of us ingested about 5 hits each, not really knowing what to expect. About an hour or so later the buzz started to come on.

I won't bore you with mundane trip details, but I can say that this experience opened my mind like never before. During the trip I could feel the essence of humanity and life. In the weeks following the trip, I saw myself being more empathetic of others. I realized the difficulties of being human. I started to contemplate the meaning of life.

Are we humans really any more different than a flock of birds, or a colony of ants? In the grand scheme of things I don't think so.

...and so I stated to read literature like the Doors of Perception and Brave New World by Aldous Huxley, Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter Thompson, etc.

In the end, I think using LSD was not a mistake. It opened my mind up to things I would never have thought of without it.

If you are mentally prepared for the consequences of an LSD trip then by all means go for it. If not, just know that you may not ever be the same after the trip.

Enjoy!

(call me crazy or whatever, I don't care  This is simply how it affected me)

Flame accepted :nervous:

For posterity, I have experiened cid about 10 time and shrooms probably 15 times since 1997, so I would not consider myself a 'crackhead' in that sense.

Going back to Timothy Leary and even further to the native users of shrooms and peyote, it is my belief that 'God' intended these substances for good purposes rather than harmful ones.

Continue flaming

First word of advice: Prepare yourself like no other. Remember that kid in Ohio? He did shrooms, and he ran out naked on the streets.

i found mdma to be far more 'mind opening' than acid (not sure about shrooms just as yet, looking to try them sometime soon). but perphaps you might not.
i took mdma for the first time when my life was just getting better (gf broke up with me a while before, going bad at school..) and it made me see the light. i dont think i would be the same person without experiencing it. it made me remember what pure happiness was like again, after forgetting it for a long long time. i also found it made me become far more accepting of others. it definetly changed me as a person forever, in a good way for sure : )

although ive only had lsd once, i didnt really find it to be a mind expanding drug. lots of people say it is, so i guess it must be. next time ill take slightly more and i might get to that stage. :D

gl to whatever you're trying to achieve : )
