It's not that mixing isn't important, but at the end of the night what do you remember??? How well he mixed the songs, if they stayed in the same key, if the baseline was perfectly matched? ...or the songs themsleves and how hard those songs rocked your body?!? I think in order to be a great dj, you must be able to mix perfectly, but reading the crowd and playing what needs to be heard is what you will be remembered by, even if that means less then perfect mixing a time or two on stage.
Tiesto and Oakey...? Are you kidding? That made me laugh. That's like comparing Wundervol to Flight 643. hee hee (just kidding Art!) |
