Credibility is so over rated

It can't be that bad if we keep getting invaded by these interstaters :p

Yeah, glad soemone else thinks the same. I mean anyone can learn to mix tunes and make mix cd's and get gig's round the place if they put thier mind to it... and have a taste in music that other enjoy. I mean really that's all a dj is. They play tunes people like, mixed in their own way.

But when you finally produce a track that makes everyone in the club and then every trance music fan the world over stop, and say WHOA!! Then you know you've got something going... and that gives credibility and that's what will lift the scene and it's music in melbourne and the rest of oz to the next level...

on a world scale..perhaps...on an Australian scale...doesnt have to be.

really, look at Kenobi...whats he produced? A couPLa dodgey remixes of big tracks.

Can anyone name a Jason Midro produced track???

look at Luke Chable...Oz's biggest producer by far...yet ranked 47 on ITM's 50.

Look at Eddie Halliwell in England...or Pete Tong...master promoters...not producers.
Scott Bond hadnt produced anything till Gatecrasher was like 10 years old.

Production is good...dont get me wrong..its where its at...but its not the be all and end all.

Okay say some guy/girl produce's some massive awesome trance track in Melbourne...they still need somewhere to PLay it.

i think production is a highly credible aspect of the DJ Culture now. Kind of like hunting for jobs in the job market, its always good to have something extra that someone else doesnt, and if u have a dj who makes mad productions, over one who doesnt 9/10 you should pick the dj who is original enough to create his own sound and put himself ou there on the line, afterall productions are what creates this scene.

if there were no productions, there'd be no music!!!

i'm dieing to get into producing, and have a few ideas, but nfi how to use the programs.. :(

You know this, I know this, but 95% of Melbourne clubbers only know who that fulle' sik DJ was that ripped it up last nite was...and they were on the dj's guestlist :0

(just passing on what im learning...okay back to my burrow)
