HOLYYY SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT
Johan was amazing, such a wicked set, he started the night by playng tiestos-forever today, the crowd digged it!
he even dropped cafe del mar, OMG!!!
The club is amazing, its huge, 100x times better then the guv, atleast there was plenty of space to dance, and much bigger patio
nice to meet some nice faces of TA, including robby G,diabolic and a few others:wtf:
Overall, i would say i had a blast!
the only thing is to remove the Hip-HOP room, poor fellars i felt sorry for them, they shut down at about 3 ish, and they were trying to dig trance:haha: :haha: |

And yeah, the dancers were hot. Me and the asian one in those tiny white shorts kept checking eachother out and i was waiting for her her to finish up her act so that we could dance. But then i went to check out the R&B room and all of em disappeared! My sex life got owned by hiphop :haha: |
And here I thought you were a man of priorities. Of course, hip hop does attract a lot more bootyliciousness than trance :) |

Well now... overall it was a great night.
I was never at the docks before this event, so I guess I could say the renovations look awesome. The Godskitchen room is incredible! Really sweet atmosphere! I spent alot of time out on the patio before Gielen came up to the decks.
One thing that kept me from staying long enough to enjoy his whole set was that my girl wasn't too into sancing to the trance, so we spent a bunch of time in the hip-hop room... oh well...I had a good time anyways. I was there for Gielen's first 7 to 10 tracks I think.... that's enough for me, since I'll see him at WEMF!!!! |

wow...were we at the same event?
maybe it was where I was standing but I thought that Johan's mixing wasn't the best...his track selection was awesome but to me it seemed like his levels were all off on the tracks he was bringing in...his mixing was fade in fade out with the bass out and he kept mixing late...i even heard a few trainwrecks.
but like i said...maybe it was where I was standing...
and the drink prices at the docks were expensive. $5.50 for a can of beer!! and $7.50 for imports...$6.50 for coolers. seemed expensive to me. on top of that you have to pay $10 to park in the Docks parking lot...which is the only place you can park.
the back hip hop room was rammed but it was really smelly in there...the crowd in the front room was pretty good but will be nice when more people start finding out about how nice the new Docks is.
the dancing angels...they could have done without and the people i met weren't all that friendly...people kept bumping into me all night and then giving me dirty looks before walking away...and it wasn't that crowded in there...
Godskitchen in the UK (what this is supposidly modled after) is a huge clubbing experience and this wasn't even a touch on that...
just my experience of the night.

i was not impressed with Johan at all.
what the hell are you people on about. |
some people are impressed enough by the set list, and not as turned off as the club and expected experience as you might have been.
i'm impressed by mixing and tech skills, but face it, i'll have a much better time if a DJ's setlist appeals to me and their skills suck (moderately), than if their skills are on point and they play tracks that i can't stand. |
