Can someone give me one reason why this guy isn't the best?
I swear, he started out at like 12:30, played some warm up classic house, progressive, and as he was doing it, you just got the sense that he was testing the system for the to get optimum performance for the rest of the night. He'd spike the volume levels, check the EQ, and when he was satisfied with the testing at like 1:30, he came on the mic and told everyone 'Ok, I'm warmed up. Are you ready for the marathon???" Played alot of tribal house to begin, moved then to some harder tribal techno, Then started mixing up the hard house styles. The Layla remix he played was rediculous, definately the stand out track of the night. And yeah Chinaman's right, we definately had "Stereo" flashbacks. This was the first time in toronto I've actually felt the energy of stereo in a club.
And yeah, chinaman, myself and disko-kandi seemed to be the only troopers left by the end, but it was worth every minute, penny and aching muscle today. The club was about 1/3-1/2 full by the end, still alot of support showing for Danny, schedualled to finish at 12, Danny kept going until 'the cops come in and bust the joint up, cuz you know that's how I do'. Much thanks goes out to Boa for finally bringing the man back, and doing such a proper job in making it one of the best parties in toronto in a long time. Thanks to tenaglia for putting on a great show, and instilling some national pride into the crowd by making us sing the national anthem, and always letting us "be ourself" |

WOW!!! Danny T, you blew away any expectations I had!!
Nasty ass house from front to back, not one track that wasn't guaranteed to move your ass. Sooooooooooooooo MANY new tracks I have never heard before, but couldn't avoid dancing like a freak to!
Danny was unbelievable, the way he was in touch with the crowd, pausing every couple hours to talk and interlude with us. He truly makes his sets an experience like not other DJ can ever duplicate.
I will, without a doubt, be looking for some NYC parties of his to go check out.
I got there at around 1:30 and stayed until around 8, then went to a friend's and got cleaned up and ate something before the AVB cruise. |

holy shiet..now that was what i call UGH...
the music was so right that my body was moving by it self to the rhythm..and rhythm truly was danny's biatch...i was there from 3 until 12 30...non stop dancing..the vibe was amazing...i met some amazing people and saw some that i already new..i hope that this vibe in boa never changes..
anywayz dannny t is a rude boy..but i gota say at the end around 11 30..i didnt feel it..maybe because my body was stoping to function or maybe because he was too repetitive..how ever..i give it 9/10

Just for the record, Danny T finished up at 2:00pm!!! The only TAs I saw at the end were obviously myself and Sly_Guy. I know that Highroller left with some other ppl at like 1:30.

I was totally looking for TAs around noon when I left. I didn't see any, and I thought "wow you guys are pussies!" :p
It was great to be greeted by a slew of TOTAs when I got there - Nat, Diginut, highroller, Jeff, silke (finally) everyone! I met so many new people too, it was fantastic that you were all still there rockin out when I got there.
I'm going to copy my review posted on tribe b/c it's long and I have to move tomorrow and I'm not packed so I don't have time to write a new one:
First off, I think we all need to give massive thank yous to EVERYONE who works at boa who had a hand in pulling that night off with such success. Thursday morning put Boa on the MAP if it wasn't already. Rony, Carey, all of you at Boa - after all the hard work I know you guys put in to pull this off, you really did an amazing job.
Got to the club at 7:30am after being at guvernment since 1am and then frans for breakfast. The new entry on to the other side of the dancefloor was the most confusing thing ever - we couldn't see, it was packed, someone screamed my name and sweaty-hugged me and I didn't know who it was. (always the sign of a good night to come!)
Spent most of the first hour chatting with people, getting a sense of what had been transpiring since midnight. Checked out the patio - and at 8am it was just as my friend described it - "a lot of people trying to sort themselves out." lol However I ended spending a lot of time out there, so what does that say...
Danny's music wasn't really MY thing - there were only about 5 or 10 times that warranted losing my to. However, I couldn't tear myself away (even to the patio sometimes) for fear of missing what could be coming next. The programming was incredible - someone desrcibed the set as "smooth" - and it truly was.
Things started clearing out around 9 I guess. I felt Danny truly rewarded those who stayed later because from 11:15 to when we left around noon was the techiest part of the whole set (that I heard). It began when he sampled Rui di silva's (sp) "touch me" and over a deep, dirty bassline, and following that came sounds layered over each other that I didn't know existed. I stood there with my mouth agape, just listening in awe, shaking my head and occasionally giving my friend a "this is in SICK!" accompanied by some sort of fist pumping motion. The tech began to ease up but was only replaced by some seriously sexy bongo action that was equally delicious.
That 45 minutes made my night complete. I was worried I would not hear anything techy.
There was a small break from the insanity around noon and that's when we made our exit.
What impressed me is that even at NOON I didn't get a sketchy vibe from the place. People were still happy, still talking and still dancing. At any other club, the crowd would be sketched out by 4am...never once did I think "woo, this is sketchy, let's leave."
I am so glad I decided to go to this. Thank you boa, thank you Danny! |

I was only able to stay until around 7am, I had things to do on Thursday, but what a great time I had! Stone cold sober, and dancing like a maniac, when there was space!
My first time at BOA, and I can now see what all the fuss is about! IT's nice seeing people who actually seem to ENJOY what they are doing! We were talking to the girl running the coat-check, and at one point she was like, "I'm gonna jump out there and dance!" It was great. And when i had to re-enter twice, there was no hassle, except some VERY aggressive searching from the female security gaurd, but she was kidding around, it was hilarious. I stepped up and she screamed, "Assume the postion BITCH!!" And then she wouldn't let me go until I smiled at the other female security guard... she said I had nice teeth! :D
Great people, great music, as usual! We are very spoiled here in TO.
Erika, it was beyond words how good it felt to have you back! Max Q, Gq, Freaky G and the gang, what can I say, you are the best! It was nice to meet The Highroller, Diginut, and Chinaman at Bird. THanks again to Jeff (Floorwhore) for setting that up! THere weren't any guy-shirts left, but my girlfriend LOVES the shirt, I gave it to her, and she wore it right away! (points for me!! yay!)
All in all, a positive experience that vindicated the price of the ticket, IMHO.
Keep up the good work Boa, you guys seem to know how to do it!

WoW... June 30th marks a night to remember forever! First I'd like to say Whassup to: FloorWhore, The Highroller, Sly_Guy, Samhouse, Max Q, gqstyles, disko-kandi, DigiNut & Chinaman. You guys are such a riot. Great to finally meet up with fellow TA's. I know I'm forgetting some names, sorry to those I didn't mention.
Thanks to Jeffy (FloorWhore) & Rony from Boa for setting up our TA gathering @ Bird. That place was chillin and it gave us a great opportunity to chat before the unblievable sounds of Danny T. Ohhh.. Also the t-shirts are kickin', very much appreciated ;)
Now DANNY... What a performance! The interaction and personal touch with the crowd was very cool. I'd have to say he's the best I've seen. Great mix of tribal, progressive and a lil bit of tech. A few familiar tunes. A bit dissapointed in myself... Dancin definately wasn't at full capacity for me - dunno what was up with that???
All in all :eyes: AmAzInG night filled with bumpin beats and amazing people.
I do have 1 complaint.... The line up for the ladies bathroom was NUTS
Hope to see all of you soon! - Ain't nobody party like we do - |

Well... I think everyone else summed it up pretty well! The room was awe inspiring, the music was hype and I was destroyed by the end of the night. Everything was incredible, the people were great and I loved the DT fanatics who just looked enraptured the entire night. Met a few new TAs, met a whole bunch of one's I'd already met. Thank god for the patio, otherwise I think I would have roasted to death (I don't deal with the boiler rooms that well). I was thoroughly impressed by the entire event, far more than mere words can describe.
Note: I was a little unhappy because I was exhausted by the time I got there :(
Special thanks to - Rony, Tom, Carey and Ralph. That party was all I'd ever dreamed a party could be! |
