Amen..AVP2 Marine scared the piss out of me, 'specially with the lights out and nothing but headphones on or just cranking the sound really high on your speakers. Speaking of AVP...anyone know if they're gonna make a third? Maybe I'll make a thread... |

With the new avp coming out and its relative success, maybe they will make a third episode. It would be awesome if they used the doom 3 engine :eyes: even their own engine is pretty good (watch videos of Monolith's upcoming game F.E.A.R )

Yes, I totally agree. This game is terrifying beyond belief.
And yet, I find that...

But yeah, I got to this part where I saw a red and silver skull floating in a room, so I go to grab it. The next thing I know, the screen gets all distorted and zombies are coming at me from all angles. I was freaking out (THANK GOD I was sober) and whipped out the chainsaw and hacked 'em to bits. It was a hell of an experience last night.
I can't WAIT to upgrade my RAM so this game can run more smoothly. |

| I played all 4 Silent hill games, they were more creepy than scary. But AvP & AvP 2 marine campaings will scare the hell out of you especially in a dark room with the volume high. |

I too am playing doom3, if only for a few minutes per week. Where are you in the game? |

| so far id have to go with re on game cube specially when u come face to face with lisa trevor the first time in the cabin was 3 something in the mornin after a night at home a weee bit "intoxicated" had to stop the game for a min an be like WTF?!?! was made crazy lol an when i turn a corner an low an behold a nice plump spider waitin for me (have a lil fear of spiders mind u) lets just say i had to have the light on when i was goin in those corriders |

system shock was good, but not really "scary"...
games that freaked me out back in the day... the Resident Evil series.. Clock Tower for the PSX.. the original Quake
Doom III is definitely up ther nowadays
but you guys forgot all of the old-school point-and-click adventure games for the PC!!!

definitely check them out, they're old school, but still fun to play.
edit- oh yeah and the Gabriel Knight series are good too... not very scary... but they're supposed to be |
