Being unproductive at work ??

Is it just me, or does everyone get days at work when you don't do anything at all??

I, for example, sometimes don't do anything for a few days in row. And it's not that I don't want to work, it's just that I can't start working for some reason.

I talk on MSN, browse TA, and do everything else except work. I hate myself during those periods, but still cannot get any work done.

What's more interesting to me is that I'm still ahead of eveyone else...I wonder what they must be doing here all day long??? :conf:

same here buddy! you're not alone!

the best thing you could do is remove MSN at work, its the most disruptive. You cannot work for 5 minutes straight before getting some IM. And I hate stopping what I do, or even the thought of being interrupted before I start anything discourages me. :(

altho as i was reading this my boss walks by and asks if i have enough to keep me busy, so i guess the sweetness of the last 3-4 days is going to end

Me too!! It's not my fault though, I'm waiting for other people to do their jobs before I can continue. :whip: :whip: :whip:

LOL me 2. The way I do it is work a little, type few documents there and there and go back to surfing the net or chatting. Back and forth like this all day long. And I'm not behind. :D

Sometimes I'm afraid though the boss or a co-worker might see me do it. :nervous: But I simply can’t work 8 hours straight. That would kill me.

I know what you mean! 9-5 M-F is outrageous!

I'm nocturnal, and I work fast so I hate being in the office so long, esp. during the day.

9am is way too early!! :whip: :whip: :whip:

Well, hearing that many of us are like that makes me wonder how much more productive companies would be if employees actually worked "fairly" all 8 hours a day.

This post was actually inspired by the following blog:

Fire and Motion

It's pretty interesting read.
