Yeah, and the sad thing is a lot of people thought Sasha sucked ass when really it was the whole vibe/heat/smell/staff/crowd who really sucked. |

I wouldn't say Sasha sucked ass -- And you're probably right; if it was less packed in there, the experience would have been much better because Sasha's sets ARE that -- EXPERIENCES and not just being 'entertained' by dancing your ass off.
But I think that switching from Porter's hard(er) and faster set to a more chillax-by-comparison set hurt a bit. |

Agree with you and Kev (tw1tch) on this one BIGTIME. I heard all of the sets, and the tempo and style of each would DEFINATELY been complimented by a Sasha--->Porter--->Oliver order. It was totally in the wrong sequence for flow. Oliver started out pretty uptempo, with some really danceable tracks, then Porter completely set the place off, then Sasha came in and went more melodic. Also, like many have said after this night.....Steve Porter deserves a night on his own. Give him 6 hours.....id love to see what he put together. What a perfect mix of breaks/house/progressive/electro this guy put together. |

haha Was it another case of Sasha being wiped from the night before?
He's a much bigger fan of the french, proven time and time again. |

I never say any DJ sucks (not that im assuming u meant me specifically or anything)... IMO, anyone that sells millions of records, and is famous worldwide for their acheivments is great. Whether i like them or not is a diff story.
IMO, Sasha was really boring for most of his set (the part i witnessed). The first hour, hour and a half wa sheer boredom. He did play some good songs aftwerwards, but I found it kind of hard to get into his set for the most part. Sure, the heat/crowd/vibe was bad, but thats doesnt affect waht i hear really. It wasnt the first time a bad crowd/vibe was at the guv, and usually a good set distracts me from that. That didnt happen when sasha was spinning. I was much more into Steve Porter's set. I agree with u guys too, porter should of come after sasha.
But liek i said in my previous post, i left at about 5, so i cant reall comment on the whole set, just the part i was there for, and apparently i missed the best part. But i dont usually leave b4 a headliner is done their set, so that tells me sumthin too. |

when he steped down from the booth, he seemed totally tired out....
and as i mentioned before...the little i heard of his set at aria the night before blew me away and thats what i was expecting at guv...didnt happen tho...
clubs over here tell djs to be more prog house based and control what they play. i was told first hand from holden when he was at system last december that they do this. I dont agree with it one bit and thats why I'm gonna catch sasha at aria the next time he visits |

yes, i can imagine that he must have been completely dead cos he did pour his heart and soul into his set at ARIA. he even cancelled his gig the night before at the Dag in Quebec City to save all his energy for ARIA.
sorry guys ... but it was an absolutely magnificent performance! :) |
