| HAHA I have like 225 posts no one can catch me.......alright that was dumb, but so are putting stupid ass posts to get your count up. maybe some people are doing it to get a higher status on the TA board. Me personally dont care, yeah i put some dumb posts (somr of the time) but thats just for kicks to whatever someone else has said......Swamper good job on your part, maybe it will lead to alot more serious posts....:TF: |

But since Chill-out has no Post-Count, no Useless ^^^^^^^ threads will be started more than if someone wants to have some fun....and if someone posts useless posts in the music discussion the mods can just
delete them....or maybe we can insert a system so that if you just want to reply with something like "I agree" or "yes" you can choose t not get a post by it.....and ppl will be able to see in your post if you choosed to do this or not...'
Spad: Ill give U an example........Lets say that someone writes something really stupid...just weird.......and he\she has 1 post.....
you would just ignore him\her right? But what if someone with 1645 posts would write the same thing? Wouldnt you take it more serious....?
And perhaps ask why he\she said so or maybe you would even start discussing the reply serious that he\she posted? |

| Seriously, I think this has to be one of the worst ideas that's ever been thought of here. Post counts separate the newbies from the regulars, and I always like to know how many posts I've done. I don't even think it will make any difference to the quality of the threads. |

Now that I thought about that last remark I understand why we shouldn't get rid of it. I truthfuly like knowing how many posts I have and I do look foward to gettin 400, so I can change my 'title'
I do put some dumb posts but nothing that the mods ever deleted or closed. if we do move it to the profile thats great. as long as we can still have the 'title' by our names. i think it shows people who care enough about this forum and spend enough time posting stuff on it. thats what i think but if no one agrees with me oh well, your opinion right? :sadgreen:   :( :conf: |

| The only bad thing about post count is that u get some people posting one word or something in every post to get there post count up, and we normally know who they are, so i wont name names, but overall it is a good idea, it shows how dedicated to a forum you are, and i always like to see how many posts i have |

Thats why i think that instead of removing it you should get the forum to NOT give post counts to ppl writing reaplies 1-10 words long or something....or perhaps give the opurtunity to ppl to choose if they want post-count for their post? And if a mod see that a person writes useless replies he can either delete the replies or make them a "No post count reply" or somethin? Is this possible?
Excuse my english :p |

i really do hope that those who want to raise their count with stupid posts donīt move to the music section, coz if they do we got the same prob again and the mods always have to move/delete posts/threads!!!
although i think its a good idea to just let the posts in the musicrelated-sections count!!
music related post should be visible for everyone
totalposts only for themselfes!!
go for it swampz;) |

and we don't come here to gain respect, we come here to discuss
well, that my opinion anyway |
I'm with you here (only not the part of 'nice guy', because I'm a girl :D)
And for Kanos (hope I remember your name correctly ;)): good idea, that with the count of time registered to the forum!
And about wanting to count your posts: you could do it yourself, by keeping a piece of paper besides your computer and write it down... |

Ill give U my example once again:
Lets say that someone writes something really stupid...just weird.......and he\she has 1 post.....
you would just ignore him\her right? But what if someone with 1645 posts would write the same thing? Wouldnt you take it more serious....?
And perhaps ask why he\she said so or maybe you would even start discussing the reply serious that he\she posted? |

Maybe I'm radical the other way: if someone with a number of 1645 posts would say something stupid to me I would take it LESS serious! If someone with so many posts writes something stupid, then the chance is big that a big part of his posts are crap also, so I woundn't bother. (I would maybe just ask him/her why he found it necessary to write something like that) If someone with one post says something stupid, I would think to myself 'hey, he/she didn't get the idea of behaving yet, so let's try to explain him what's it like here on the forums and what people expect from him/her (not) to do.
Just because of postcounts, people are posting crap. How can you on earth have 2000 posts (no ffense to the ones who have it ;)) in for example 1 month? Then it only could BE crap! |
