Sweden have never won this tournament (in fact they were beat in 1984 in the final by Canada) and we have beaten them the last two years running in the World Championship with our second stringers against pretty much the team they have right now. |
I just realized the bastards changed the final format. It used to be the best of 3 series at times and was one game at times. I'm not worried, Canada will be the champs. |

well we won tonight anyway, so that's a good start. But it would have been nice to pound the Yanks about 5 zip. I think the only reason why they scaled the final back from best 2 of 3 to just one game was because they couldn't fit that many games in before September 15th, the dreaded day the CBA expires. The best 2 of 3 is a better format I think...it worked for us in 87 since we lost the first game and came back to win the next two, but kicked us in the ass in 96 when we won the first and lost the next two.
But yeah...I'm pretty confident we'll be in the Final. |

I like Finland to win the Cup.
Mikka hasn't let one puck slip by him and the Fins have scored 7 goals in their last 2 games.
However, with the situation in Russia, I might have to change my picks. |

you're forgetting who Finland have played so far. The Germans and are dismal and the Czechs didn't wake up until the third period against Sweden in their second game. Let's see how Canada does against the Russians before we start jumping on their bandwagon. But I think we can all agree the USA is complete e.:) |
